Tidbit #1
Does anyone else (I'm reaching WAY back here) miss their Yahoo360 Avatar? I used to have so much fun changing her background, clothes, hairstyle, etc. You could put on a happy face or a sad face. It was so easy. I think I missed my Avatar from Yahoo360 more than I missed Yahoo360 itself. Of course, I quickly found Multiply and moved there with my Yahoo friends. (The photo above is a new Avatar - not from Yahoo.)

I have a meeting today with my boss and a woman who is selling data base software. Our 'new' one, that we switched to two years ago, it terrible (Blackbaud/Altru) and ridiculously expensive. Hoping this one will be a good change for us.

So far, Vinny has left the Christmas tree alone! He goes under it, and I see him looking at it, but it is still standing, and no ornaments have hit the floor. I'm somewhat amazed.

My December calendar is filling up fast! Seems like the last month of the year should be more quiet and relaxing....not.

I have been shopping on line for Christmas gifts, and am happy to say it is going well. I'm not done yet, but I LOVE shopping through Amazon Prime. No shipping charges and the gifts arrive in two days. We have more than saved the price of paying for Prime. I recommend it, if you like shopping on line.

I love your tidbits - and I have to say where was I - I don't remember the avatar at all. lol You have your decorations up - I am behind - Andy has been sick with strep this week and he is so needy! My December is getting busy too! sandie
ReplyDeleteI don't know anything about the Yahoo avatar. But the exciting news is that maybe your Amazon shopping will be delivered by drones!! (if it doesn't get shot down). That's the first thing I heard of when they announced that they're thinking of using drones to deliver purchases in some locales.

I actually have totally forgotten about the Yahoo Avatar 'til now. Thank goodness I don't do that much shopping any more now that it's just Bud and Me. Gift cards for all else. I know...that's pretty much a 'cop out' I guess, but they do get to get what they want then. LOL That's my excuse, and I'm sticking to it.

ReplyDeleteI had Amazon Prime but cancelled the renewal. I used it big time last year, but not going that route this time around and times and funds are a little tight at my house. Enjoyed reading your tidbits and related to a couple...360, Multiply, etc. Glad Vinny is behaving and not destroying the tree - yet! I dread putting my little fake one up because Cali will be right there, taking down as fast as I put up!
ReplyDeleteWhat I| miss most about Yahoo is that I lost some contacts from all over the world after they shut down. I am still trying to find folk to chat with in AU and other continents. My goal is 2 or more from every continent. I have had no luck with South America yet. I just am thirsty for other cultural traditions and to understand our world better.

ReplyDeleteI've been remiss in reading the blogs. So much going on in November but it is nice to pick it back up.
I've joined Amazon Buy VIP which sells name brands at reduced prices. Last week I ordered some mixing bowls because I only have big Tupperware one and it's getting old. I was given a delivery date of 20th December. Well, they arrived this past Tuesday. I'll be making more bread this weekend and am looking forward to using the biggest one.
