Sunday Evening....

Another weekend is almost over, putting us that much closer to Christmas!!

We got gifts wrapped and packaged for mailing north, today.  I also got Christmas card labels put on envelopes, so can start working on signing and writing notes in cards this week. It is starting to feel like Christmas, this second Sunday of Advent!!

I baked some chestnuts this weekend. Joe doesn't care for them, so I get them all to myself!! Just love them.  I also baked another spaghetti squash to enjoy this week....another thing Joe doesn't like.

We bought the cats a gift, and decided to get it put together today.  We don't really have a place for it until the Christmas tree comes down, so for now it is sitting behind the one of the sofas, sort of in the middle of the room. They are already having fun on it, and I'm hoping it will distract them from the tree!

That is Onyx exploring the platforms. He also slept the afternoon away inside that cubby he is standing on.

Unfortunately, I have another funeral to attend and it is tomorrow afternoon. A friend, of many years, and also a past President of our Board, Margaret, lost her husband late last week.  He was well-loved and well-connected in our community. It will be at St. Joseph Catholic Church, and most likely very crowded.  Sad at anytime, but especially during the holidays.

Wishing you all a good Monday and week ahead!  Thanks for stopping by!! Peace, love & hugs.

  1. Wow...that is a special cat tower. Will you cover it with carpet or leave it bare?

    1. Karyn, it already has a carpet cover, and the poles are wrapped in sisal.

  2. Our older daughter (not the one with our grandchild) has four cats and she would be sooooo jealous of your tower!!! She eventually wants one but it is not at the top of her budget choices.

  3. The tower is going to be great for your fur-babies. I'd love to see if all of them get on at the same time. :)
Enjoy your chestnuts and squash this week. Sounds good to me. Hope you have a good week ahead.

  5. That cat tree is really something! And look at your roasting chestnuts. Wow!

I am in the throes of decorating. Oh, mercy me! More on that later.

I am so sorry about your friend. This has really been the year for people of all ages to die. So sad, particularly right here at Christmas.

    xo,

  6. Sorry about the loss of your friends husband. I can see you are well on your way to getting all Christmas things done. That is sure a nice cat tree...lucky kitties! I bet they are going to enjoy it a lot. Hugs and nose kisses for you and yours from me and mine.

  7. I love the smell of roasted chestnuts. There are always places in the streets, especially in the centre where you can buy them freshly roasted. A friend of mine, who makes the most delicious stuffing, always puts chestnuts in hers.
    Condolences to your friend's family.
