1. What song represents your last week? Well, that one is pretty easy for me....
2. Have you made your list and checked it twice? Yes, indeed, and got everything wrapped over the weekend!
3. December 16th (Tuesday) is National Chocolate Covered Anything Day... what is your favorite thing to eat covered in chocolate? Well, I LOVE chocolate covered macadamia nuts, but really - cover it in chocolate and I would probably try it! LOL
4. Speaking of songs, what Christmas Carol is following you around this year? It is the same song every year. My absolutely favorite "new" Christmas Carol is 'Mary, Did You Know". I catch myself humming it at least twice a day. Here is Clay Aiken's version.
5. My question for YOU is, if you are cooking Christmas dinner, what are you serving for dessert? I need to make dessert for a luncheon with my girlfriends, and for Christmas dinner with Helen & Cheryl, and I haven't decided what to make for either. I need your ideas!!
Thanks for stopping by!! Wishing you a good Monday as we head quickly toward Christmas! Peace, love & hugs!!
I love Mary Did You Know too! Am not a chocolate lover, but a little now and then is ok for me. I wish I could help you on a dessert, but as you know, I am not a cook, so cant really help, other than just the usual. Hope your week is a good one, as we are counting down to the big day.
ReplyDeleteHmm..dessert..since you are in FL..how about Key Lime? Love Key Lime. I know..might not be Christmasy enough. Loved your answers. Have a Blessed Day!
ReplyDeleteI'm not cooking, but trifle is always good, and you layer it and out in the fridge ahead of time. If time is an issue, I like the chocolate ganache bin Bon cake from Publix, and they have cute Christmas cakes, too. There is a cite one they have made before that looks like an igloo.
ReplyDeleteMmmm chocolate
ReplyDeleteHere's the address for the chocolates...I copied from their website, but assume this is correct. 3747 Tamiami Trail N, Naples, FL 34103

That is right - you had a birthday!! I've checked my list twice too! And I like anything CHOCOLATE! sandie
ReplyDeleteThat's a cute birthday video. I love chocolate too, and would probably try anything at least once. My favorite is cherries. One thing I wouldn't want covered in chocolate and that's bacon! It's been done, of course, but it doesn't sound appealing to me. Ugh!
ReplyDeleteI love that song. I find myself humming it too.
For dessert, how about red velvet cupcakes, with a dab of white frosting and green sugar sprinkles on top? They're a big hit.
Have a good week.
I love rum cake and here's a recipe I'm going to try during the holidays:
ReplyDeleteRUM CAKE
Pre-Heat Over to 325 degrees
Grease a large Bundt Pan
1 Package of Super Moist Yellow Cake Mix
(if you can find the “pudding in the Mix” kind that is the bestest)
½ Cup Chopped Nuts
4 Large Eggs
½ Cup of Butter
½ Cup of Cold Water
½ Cup of Rum
Beat all ingredients together until batter is smooth, or no huge lumps
Bake for 55 to 60 minutes.
Top Sauce as in the Sauce Pan not in the Sauce
½ Cup Butter
1 Cup of Sugar
¼ Cup of Rum
Bring to a boil stirring constantly over low boil about 2 minutes
Pour the sauce into the cake WHILE STILL IN THE BUNDT PAN
Let sit until well absorbed – about 20 minutes.
Invert on a plate
Makes about 12 to 14 serving, or 4 days worth of breakfast!
I think you've got several good recommendations. Whatever you serve will surely be a hit.
I enjoyed reading your answers. I haven't decided what I'm going to make for Christmas dessert yet, but it looks like you've already gotten some suggestions!
