Ten Thoughts Tuesday

Do I have 10 thoughts to share?  Not sure but here goes nothin'....

  1. I have always been a morning person, until the last few months. I really, really, hate getting up early now. I used to bounce out of bed, ready for the world.  Now, I have to make myself get going.  I can't retire yet. I need to shake this!!
  2. Joe has been really busy with a couple of clients over this past week, and with Helen's projects on top of that.  I'm glad we are getting away at the end of the month, for our nephew's wedding and a big gathering of the D'Orsaneo boys and families.
  3. Our son, who is civilian army, leaves for the middle east later this month. Prayers appreciated for Joey, please, and for his wife, Darlene, who will be left alone for a few months. (Prayers for all of our military and their families!)
  4. Work is going well! I tackled a huge project that sometimes takes a couple of days. Today, it only took a couple of hours! Whew!! Feels good!
  5. I have this Friday afternoon off, for a gathering of my girlfriends at Shirley's house. She is cooking. I'm bringing the wine. Melody is driving down to be with us (2 1/2 hour drive!). It will be fun.
  6. I resolved to become more involved in the community again, and will attend my first DAR meeting tomorrow evening. It's been years since I went to a meeting, though I always pay my dues to keep my number alive.
  7. Next Monday will be my first council meeting at our new old church! Looking forward to that!
  8. I also re-joined ABWA (American Business Women's Association), but can't go to the first meeting, which is tomorrow afternoon. I have to be at work for an Investment Review Committee meeting. Hopefully there won't be a conflict in October.
  9. I'm almost to 10!  Had lunch with my friend and co-worker, Pal, today. We haven't gone out together for a long time. That was nice.  We went Cuban. Yum.
  10. Wishing everyone a good evening!  As always, I also wish you peace, love and send hugs!  Promised prayers continue!

  1. I have told you before, but I so admire you for being involved in your community in so many ways. I will certainly pray for Joey and his wife too. Fun times ahead with your girlfriends on Friday. I have always been a morning person and still am to a degree, but on cool mornings especially, I snuggle back down under the covers for another 30-60 minutes.

  3. I'm not a morning person, never have been. And I absolutely hate alarm clocks. I can understand your mood now..... you're a busy lady. If you have trouble running out of energy late afternoon, try 1,000mcg of B12 with breakfast. It has helped me a lot.
Prayers for Joey's safety and for Darlene who must stay behind and keep the home fires burning. God bless them both.

  4. I won the DAR award in high school - - but what is keeping your number active? I understand the active part but why are you a number?
With my thyroid issues, it is hard for me to be energized until I am awake about 45 mins. At that point, my thyroid medicine has kicked in a bit - - plus I have a Coke and food at that point, too. - - - I don't do coffee but do want caffeine. I know Coke is not good for me but I eat rather healthy the rest of the day! Playing catch-up on blogs again.

    1. When you "prove" your lineage to a Revolutionary soldier, you are issued a number which stays with you. The number doesn't go away, but joining a chapter and paying dues, keeps your lineage and "number" out there. I take thyroid meds too. Maybe I need to see if it should be increased a bit. Didn't think of that, Lynda.

  5. prayers for your son and his wife. I've always been a morning person. Good thing, too. Our new neighbor rides a motorcycle to work and goes as fast/loud as he can at 5 a.m.!!!!!!
