Monday, Monday, Monday.....

It was hard hearing that alarm clock this morning. I have so enjoyed sleeping in and not worrying about getting to work these past few days. But - Monday it is, and I am back at work.

Today is the first day of public school for Polk County.  Traffic was heavy on my drive today. I travel at the same time the teachers are trying to get to work, and the kids who drive are racing to make the first bell.  Fortunately, I missed the school buses this morning. They go earlier, or later and I squeaked in between the bus runs today! That is a good thing.

I need to get busy. Co-workers are arriving and I have a 3-day backlog to work through.  We didn't get to Publix over the weekend. If Joe doesn't do the shopping this afternoon, we will have to go out after work. The cats need food, and that is the urgency for shopping! We go through about seven cans of cat food a day. We are nuts for having five cats, but we have five babies and they must be fed. That there is dry food out all the time for them is not relevant...they want Friskies! LOL

Thanks for stopping by.  Wishing you a good Monday!!  Peace, love & hugs.

  1. They don't start school here until September. Ugh I hate getting stuck in school bus traffic. Glad you were able to miss them. Have a great day!

  2. Hope you have a good Monday!
School doesn't start here until the day after Labor day, which I always liked.

  3. Our kids will start back next Tues. The buses won't be as bad this year since they tore down 2 school buildings. One was 2 blocks from our house so we won't have buses in our neighborhood.
I hope you have a good Monday. ♥

  4. Kids have been in school here going on 2nd week. I hope you are feeling ok and will take it easy at work. Maybe Joe will go grocery shopping before you get home, and that would help. Hugs.

  5. Kids in Kentucky start school very early. I suppose they finish earlier than some places too.

I can imagine how hard it must have been for you to get up this morning. I got up extra early this morning to go to the bank. I could hear lots of people outside either going to work or waiting for the new supermarket to open. They've finally finished re-modelling the building and today was the grand opening. I haven't been in yet, but the famous neighbour told me how wonderful it is. I knew she'd go. And I hope Joe does the shopping for you. Enjoy the rest of the day.

  6. I always hate being out among the school traffic. Yes, kitties have a way of letting us know exactly what they prefer to eat!!!
    Take it easy at work.

  7. Your kitties are lucky to have you! Hope the backlog isn't too painful. It will be nice to be caught up - and I hope you're feeling okay too. Love that picture. How darling! Makes me smile.

  8. Maybe if you sprinkle some parmesan cheese on the dry food, they will like it. (That's how I got my cats eating a new dry food that they didn't initially like, after their regular food disappeared from store shelves.)

  9. I get tickled when I go to the store and see someone with only or mainly pet food in the cart because I know they are doing the same thing we have had to do over the years - - - run to the store because we ran out. Animals don't understand wait or eat a peanut butter sandwich instead! Yes - - - the lovely school traffic. I go downtown to pick up the grandson from his dad. If I leave at 7:25 or 7:35, I get there at the same time because the school traffic is so heavy at the early time. There are multiple routes to downtown but ALL of them have a school on them!!!

  10. It is hard to go back to work - and when the traffic is bad from school. Did Joe go shopping?
