Good Friday to you! Those of us in the USA are looking forward to a three-day Labor Day weekend! Hooray!!
I don't participate in the Random Five Friday, but thought I would list five things that come to mind on this Friday morning!
- I am taking my friend, Beverly, to lunch today. She has been one of our security guards, at the Museum, for quite a few years, and she has finally retired (at age 85!). I missed the party they had for her, when we took Friday off to go to St. Augustine a few weeks ago. I told her I would take her to lunch and today is the day!
- Along those lines, Joe and I are taking our neighbors, Bob & Ginny, to dinner tonight, to thank them for watching the cats and the house for us so many times these past months. We watch theirs when they travel, but we've been going a lot lately and wanted to do something to thank them. We're going again at the end of September, two weekends in a row. So grateful to have good neighbors!
- I am jealous about the cooler temperatures some of you are blogging about. We are still hot and steamy here in central Florida.
- I want to take a road trip this Sunday. Have a couple of things in mind. More later!
- Thanks for all the sweet thoughts, kind words and prayers yesterday. The funeral, for the Museum's architect and supporter, went well, and the tributes for my brother here (and on Facebook) were all so nice. You all helped make a sad day brighter!

ReplyDeleteEnjoy your lunch with Beverly! I can't believe she worked until she was 85! That is awesome! Lindsay's boyfriend's mom is a security guard at the Detroit Institute of Arts. That would be an interesting job. I can't wait to hear where your road trip is going to take you! Have fun at dinner tonight! P.S. I have to say that the mornings here are nice to be outside, but the afternoons are too hot with too much humidity. My sister and I went to the Dollar Store earlier this afternoon and then we stopped at a roadside vegetable stand and I bought some green tomatoes and honey. I was out of the car all of 2 minutes, so I can't imagine how horrible it must be in Florida. My sister Diana is coming to visit tomorrow, and on Sunday evening I'll be watching the fireworks. Have a safe weekend whatever you decide to do.
