Wednesday, Wednesday, Wednesday....

Today was another busy day at work, but the financials are done and have been emailed to Board members.  I also completed another project that was hanging out on my desk.  Tomorrow will be a good day to finish 'catching up'.

The City workers came today and pruned the palm trees in our parking lot, including the two that tend to block my view when the dead fronds start hanging down (called a 'beard').  I held up a sign that said "Thank you!!!" and the guy in the bucket who was cutting the fronds gave me a smile and a thumbs up.

My window looks at our main public library.  We (the Museum) allows the library to use our parking lot, and in return, they take care of the landscaping.  Nice deal for the City and for us.  They do a wonderful job, and I am so happy to not be looking out at dead palm fronds now!!  That palm was below my window when I started working there 16 years ago!

This weekend is Palm Sunday.  We will go to the 4:00 Vigil Mass, our usual, and will be taking Helen and Cheryl to the airport on Sunday morning.  Joe and I may continue on over to Tarpon Springs, so he can get his Greek version of the Italian Easter Bread.  My Multiply friends will remember that I tried baking some, last year, using Joe's mom's recipe.  It looked beautiful, but wasn't completely baked through, so we couldn't eat it.  I have no luck with making bread (except in the bread machine).  Happy to buy it elsewhere, as long as Joe is happy!

I hope you have had a good day, and wish you a good Thursday.  Peace, love & hugs.

  1. It's been a day on the go today. We just also got back from church. I practiced with the choir. I haven't sung in a choir for at least 10 years. Kind of fun .
Small congregation can be good . They told me I don't have to sing good to be in it lol.
Funny about the trimming the palms and the smile and thumbs up.
    Smiles are nice!

    1. I think our Lord cares not if the notes are on key; He is just happy we are singing praises to Him!! Enjoy the choir, Cheryl!

  2. It seems I've been busy this week, but not really doing much. We had a nice shower come through earlier. I'm feeling lazy.

    1. The rain fell all around us, but we didn't get a drop. This weather does make one 'lazy'...me too!

  5. I went to a contemplation and evening prayer session tonight. Two male parishioners are hoping to turn Wed night into a silence/contemplation/healing service. It is a small village but I went to light a candle for a young native girl from the local Reserve who is in Vancouver having a bone marrow transplant. Only 4% of our population are First Nations so it is difficult to find donors. She found one and now has 11 days of brutal body work to do with chemo and anti-rejection drugs. Somehow, just lighting that candle and taking the little cup up to put on a window sill under a stained glass window, set me free from worrying about her so much. That is not an Anglican thing to do, but I just picked my favorite window and put it under the stained glass on the window sill.

    1. Karyn, I think lighting the candle highlighted your prayers for the young girl getting the transplant. It is a prayerful thing to do. Glad it calmed your worry, too.

  6. Hi Terri! That is a great set up that the city has with the museum! I wish I could look out my window and see palm trees! LOL. I have a hard time making bread too. I keep seeing all these wonderful recipes on Pinterest. I might have to give it a try again. Have a great day!

  7. Looking out your window to palmtrees must be relaxing.

I never made bread until this year. I really like it. I have never used a bread machine though. We like sandwich rolls so I just roll into balls instead of a big loaf.
    Have a great day!

  8. I remember them trimming the palm trees last year, so you could see out your window better. Good deal with the library. I love our Palm and Easter Sunday services, but miss the children coming down the aisles with palm branches like they did in the Methodist church. Our choir has a special program for Easter morning, and even tho I cant carry a tune in a bucket (old saying from my family) I do love the music. I agree that God doesn't expect all of us to be stars in singing, just as long as we are praising Him. I laughed one day, when our Pastor said, if you don't think you can sing, just either mouth the words or silently say "watermelon, cantelope" and everyone will think you are singing....lol Hope you have a lovely day my friend.

  10. Won't be checking in at multiply any more. It was nice while it lasted. They did return my unused portion for being a premium user, then the bank took most of it to convert the dollars to euros. Typical! I will be thinking of Helen and family and praying for them.
