Start the week....

Whew, busy day at work.  I got a deposit done, did payroll, and we had an interview this afternoon.  We have two open positions, now.  Both are critical (with a small staff, all positions are critical, I guess).  It is always exciting to welcome new people to the staff, and we always have high hopes.  Fingers crossed!!

Helen called again tonight, from Virginia.  She said she went to the funeral home today, and they got all the arrangements made for a Wednesday burial.  She sounded good, actually, and I think it is great that she is with family.  I know she has been worried about handling everything, and I could hear less stress in her voice.

Tomorrow is Board meeting day.  The treasurer won't be at the meeting, and I've been asked to give the financial report.  I'm happy to do it, but I am happier being the quiet little mouse in the corner!  Sigh.

I am getting my hair cut tomorrow evening.  I go for a trim about every five weeks, but I am telling her it is past time to go shorter.  We have been letting it grow, for some reason.  I know short works better with these curls, so short it will be!!

Joe is busy with his tax clients.  He loves it, though.

As you can tell, I don't really have anything new or interesting to write about tonight.  I have Dancing With The Stars on.  The youngsters always do well.  We watched "The Bible" earlier, having taped it from yesterday.  We are enjoying it, very much.

I do have one exciting thing to report!  I had an email from our granddaughter, Lauren, tonight, to tell us that she posted her pictures from two exciting trips she has taken recently.  She went to the UK with friends, and I was especially interested in her pictures from Scotland.  Over her spring break, she went with friends to Vegas.  I know she appreciates the blessing of being able to travel and take advantage of opportunities like these.  I was in my 50s before I even had a passport, and I've never been west of the Mississippi (except to New Orleans).  I look forward to hearing her tell some stories to go along with the photos!

Wishing you a good Tuesday!!  Peace, love & hugs.

  1. Travelling is what many people wait and do when they're retired. Scotland is such a beautiful country. I really enjoy being able to see Loretta's photos on here. She's a friend from Y360 and, of course, Multiply and she's just retired.

Hope you get your positions filled. Have they been open long? I can't imagine anyone not wanting to work at the museum. And short hair rules!

    1. Brenda, one opening happened a couple of weeks ago and will be the hardest to fill. Director of External Affairs - or 'fund raiser'. The other just happened last week and is our Outreach Educator. We need a certified teacher who has experience with Museum Education, art education and working with pre-school through adults, including all ages of people with disabilities. It's not an easy job, but it is a diverse and rewarding job. If anyone is qualified and wants to live in the best place, in Florida, send me your resume!

  2. I envy those who can travel. I'm in my 50's and I still don't have a passport...probably never will.

  3. I love to travel. Sadly it takes money so I don't get to do it often. (sigh)

I've never had short hair. The shortest it has been has been touching my collar. I envy people who have time and talent to fix their hair every day. My hair is stright and the most I do with it is a ponytail. lol

    Have a great day!

    1. Kim, that's why I want my naturally curly mop to be short again. I hate messing with my hair. Short means I can wash it, fluff it a bit, and go.

  4. I can definitely relate to the short hair. Curly doesn't do real long very well. Hope you are able to find the two people to fill the positions soon. Ahhh....traveling, I love, and so glad I was able to do all we did before now, because we wont be traveling too far from home now days. Have a good Tuesday.

  5. Sounds like you've been busy at work, Terri. And then I saw the photo of your granddaughter. These young people are so blessed to have the opportunity to travel. I know you will enjoy seeing her photos. Hope you have a good evening. I'm going to have to see if The Bible is available as a rental. We don't have cable, and I've heard a lot about it.

    Your blog looks beautiful!
