Finally Friday....

This is the third time I'm trying to post.  My computer is making me crazy.  Will try again!

Friday was a long time coming this week.  Work is crazy right now, and I am behind.  I'll get caught up next week, so no worries.

When I got home this evening, we went to our church for the Knights of Columbus Friday Lenten Fish Fry.  The beer-battered white fish and all the trimmings are good, and it's fun to see friends there.  After we ate, we had to go to Sam's Club to pick up a prescription that was ready.  Then, we went to the grand opening of a new art gallery here in town.  We know the owners and several of the artists who are showing there, so it was good to pop in and talk with folks.  We looked through all the rooms and signed the guest book.  They had food and drinks for the opening, but we were stuffed, so didn't stick around for munching and drinking.

Tomorrow is the Home & Garden tour.  Looking forward to that!  I'll have photos to share, though we aren't supposed to photograph inside the homes.

I spoke with Helen today.  She wasn't feeling well yesterday, but saw her doctor and got some medicine to help her stomach and to help her sleep.  She sounded much better and said she slept good last night.  We will have dinner with her tomorrow night, either here or out, and then will help her get her plane tickets for the trip to Virginia next week.  She is not computer savvy, and asked me to help her get that done.

My long-time blogging friends know that I decorate my office, at work, for all the holidays.  My St. Patrick's Day decorations include a teddy bear that Al & Helen gave to me several years ago.  It is sitting on my desk, facing the door.  Every time I walk into my office, it makes me think of our sweet friend, Al.  Good memories!!  I snapped a photo of it.

He is a Franklin Mint collectible bear.  I'll cherish it for all time!

Speaking of St. Patty's Day, we don't have any special plans for celebrating.  Joe always says "I'm Italian, and don't need to celebrate an Irish holiday".  LOL   Since I found out I am more German than Irish, I guess it's not such a big deal for me, now, either!  ;)  Of course, everyone can be Irish on St. Patrick's Day!!

I wish you all a good weekend!  Sending peace, love & hugs!!

  1. I love your teddy bear, not only because he is Irish, but because of the sweet memories it brings. Enjoy your day and we will look forward to your pictures from the tour.

  3. I saw this earlier today on facebook (where else?): Not everyone can be Irish on St. Patrick's Day. Someone has to drive! I know you'll cherish your little bear always for it's sentimental value.

We all have different views on time. For example, this week went by quite fast for me. On the other hand, February may only have 28 days, but it's never-ending for me. Just the other day I was watching the weather forecast and they put up the forecast for 13 February. I guess February is a lot of things to a lot of people! Hope you enjoy your tour and the weekend!

  5. Whoa you sound incredibly busy. Good busy though. I like that you decorate your office according to the holiday. We don't seem to do that over here in the same way as you do. Generally people only decorate at Christmas.

I hadn't made the connection that your husband is Italian. Mine is half English, Half Italian. His mother is Italian from Rome.

  6. I love your little bear. I don't know of anyone who celebrates or decorates for St. Patrick's day, except a friend who has a real estate office has a huge shamrock hanging on her door.
Even tho' I don't know Helen, my heart goes out to her. God bless her.
You do sound busy. Hope you can get caught up without too much stress. Take care.

  7. I always went overboard with decorating my classroom for St. Patricks Day and had gold coin hunts and treasure hunts and we would write limericks together. Not the rude kind though I know a few of those. I am struggling with this new computer. There are so many little things to remember. I have a friend who did the initial installation coming on Tues. Boy do I have a long list of questions for her. Now I should go find some Irish music to play in the background while I struggle with writing a new blog on here. Just like when I joined Blogger, I will laugh at my struggles in a few months.

  8. I have been having problems with my Blogger account. My last blog just disappeared! I got an notification that my cousin had posted a comment to it and when I went to go read it, the blog post was no longer there! It must be floating in cyber space somewhere..LOL. We didn't do anything for St. Patrick's Day and I am half Irish..LOL. We usually do celebrate but we had my mom's birthday instead:-) The bear that Al gave you is so adorable..no doubt it brings memories of him!
