Sleepy Sunday....

I say it's a sleepy Sunday, but I have gotten a few things done today.  The house got a quick once-over, the last load of laundry is in the washer, and my sausage-deviled eggs are done for tomorrow's breakfast.  They turned out pretty good.  Joe (my picky-eater) tested them and approved.

Now I am procrastinating home bookkeeping.  It's my fault for letting all the receipts pile up.  If I recorded them as they come in, it would not be such a problem.  My bad.

I made French toast for breakfast, with bacon.  We are having left-over pizza (from Friday night), fruit and whatever for dinner!

My Gratitude Challenge page expresses my appreciation for our Veterans, on this Veterans' Day.  At church, last night, we had a veteran from the Air Force bring the flag down the aisle, post the colors, saluted, then led us in singing the Star Spangled Banner, and saying the Pledge of Allegiance.  It was a great way to start Mass on this special weekend.

I hope you have had a good weekend, and wish you a great week ahead!  Peace, love & hugs!!

  2. What are sausage devilled eggs? Are they on our diet? Armistice services and the cenotaph ceremony always make me cry at some point, today it was twice. We held church early at 9:30 so communion would be over in time for us to walk the 3 blocks up to the cenotaph. It began to snow as we were in church. Our windows are all stained glass so it was a shock to open the door to a white world. Well it is November and this is Canada.

  3. I loke deviled eggs but have never had them with sausage. They sound good.

I don't know if I mentioned this, but think I did in a post. When I was at the airport in Atlanta in the summer waiting in Customs, hundreds of soldiers came through. People were applauding them the entire time. A complete change from the attitude of some people towards the Vietnam veterans!

  5. Sounds like your weekend was a pretty good one all except the bookkeeping. When Jim was still in business, I did our personal and the company, and I hated it! Would always put it off til the last minute and then had to spend hours playing catch up. Just not my thing. I know the deviled eggs will be a hit. Happy Monday!

  6. I also used to do our household expenses/income in bookkeeping software. I was always prepared when tax time came around. But now, we just stuff the receipts in a folder and let our tax man do the hard work. :)
The Veteran's Day service sounds beautiful. I know I would have teared up.
Hope your having a great day.
