Happy Halloween!

It's lunch time at work.  Thought I would write a quick hello and Happy Halloween!l

I am getting caught up in the office after being off for two days.  Not so bad - it's been slow.  Nothing planned for this evening, so looking forward to a restful evening with my Joe.  We don't turn on the lights or answer the door anymore for Trick or Treaters.  Not many in the neighborhood, and we were getting older kids, not even in costume, the last time we had candy to give out (5-6 years ago).  Not fun - so we quit.  Bah Humbug.  One of my co-workers said they get 200+ in their neighborhood.  Oh my!!  The most we ever had here was 40ish.  I can't imagine 200!!  We live in a very small neighborhood, with only one way in and the same way out, so we don't get much traffic, anyway.  How many do you expect?

Wishing you a good evening!!  Peace, love & hugs.

  1. That is the cutest little bat I have ever seen. :) No trick-or-treaters come to our place. No very many kids on our road and those that do live here go to parties at churches or other places. Not much door-to-door trick-or-treating here for several years now. You have a great evening too and enjoy! Hugs

  2. We have 1 - Jesse! We dont turn on the lights either, but really and truly, there are no children close to us, and the ones that do go, go in their specific subdivisions. To be honest, I will be glad when it is over. Bah Humbug! lol

  3. The first year we lived here, we were shocked with the number of kids on trick or treat afternoon, always before dark. I know we had over 150! As the years go by, the number gets smaller and smaller, but we still pass out the candy. Most of them this year were big kids. I don't like that either. Our town always has the festivities the Saturday before Halloween, so nothing going on today.
    You have a good evening.

  4. Was out celebrating a friend's birthday tonight. It was incredible the number of people there were ein the streets and later on the underground! Lots of people were dressed up.

  5. We have gotten anywhere from 10 to 60 kids. I hate not knowing how much candy to buy.

  6. I enjoy passing out Halloween candy. I sure do miss my kids being young and getting all excited about it. I have to enjoy the neighborhood kids now. We had 84 kids trick or treat last night. They braved the cool/rainy night. I think my favorite costume was a little girl around 5 years old that was the cutest lady bug. We did get a few teenagers but they were polite and I thought, I would rather see them trick or treating than out doing something bad!

    1. I used to enjoy it. Somewhere along the way (maybe just getting old) it has lost its joy for me. I kept looking out, and only saw four older kids walking in the street. We are just not in a good location for traffic - which is a good thing, I guess. Makes me feel not so bad about having the lights out.

  7. I had a plan to pass out business cards for my piano studio along with the candy and wouldn't ya know, I didn't get anyone!

  8. We usually get around 200. We bought a bucket of 1000 Dum Dum suckers and we have 1/4 of them left. My son was giving out handfuls though.
