Let's see if I can gather ten thoughts together!!
I woke up feeling blessed and thankful this morning.
Kris' 10 thoughts brought tears to my eyes! Happy Anniversary Kris & Walt!
I am sad to think about closing my Multiply site because there are a couple of friends there who haven't moved yet and I don't want to lose them.
Multiply brought me new friends, and I've met so many of them in person! Lisa Alexander, Kris Beaver, Linda Eller, Tony & Laura Burgess, Brenda Covert and her daughter Jasmine, Ruth Wilkinson and her daughter and grandkids, Lanie Jenkins and her husband Albert (and the pups), Lyn Chamlee, Theresa Brennan and her husband John, and daughter Megan. What a blessing it has been to meet 'cyber-friends' in person!!
Even the friends I haven't met in person, feel like family. We have shared so much on Multiply - good times and bad, joy and sorrow, pain and prayers....
So, I am looking forward to finding the same camaraderie right here on Blogger, and continuing the friendships brought over from Multiply.
My friend, Genny O'Donnell, is the person who introduced me to Yahoo360, and I followed her to Multiply. I met Genny in Italy!! We were on vacation and Genny, her sister and parents were in our travel group. We formed a friendship then that continues today. We've been to visit her and she has been to visit us here. A true blessing, and the reason I got started blogging. Thanks, Genny, if you are reading this!
I have been trying to diet again. Last year, I lost 54 pounds. Confession - I've gained half of it back. I like to eat. I like to eat out. I have no control. I have started using MyFitnessPal on line, tracking what I eat. If I would just be sensible, the weight would come off. Sensible. Sigh.
If I would start walking again, that would also help. I live a sedentary life. Having bad knees and ankles doesn't help. Hard to get excited about moving when it hurts. Is that just an excuse? Probably.
So there you have what's on my mind this morning. I do wish you all a great Tuesday!! Peace, love & hugs.

I enjoy our Tuesday posts as it tells what is on our minds at the moment...not just "out there". Does that make sense? I enjoyed yahoo 360, and dreaded having to move. Then found Multiply and 90% of my 360 friends moved to Multiply. Now we are doing it again. As you know I have already deleted Multiply and am trying to be positive, hoping my friends from there will join us on Blogger. Several have, but some are still hoping that Multiply will have a new site. I am too impatient to wait! lol I am still learning here, but finding it more comfortable to get around, than when I first started. I love learning new things tho, so maybe that is why I like it here.
ReplyDeleteLinda, all of my Blogger subscriptions went away today. My list of people I have subscribed to just vanished! I've recovered most, but there are a couple that I can't find. I sure hope that doesn't happen again!! I put them all in a "folder" this time, so hope that will help. Multiply is/was just so easy. I miss the "In-Box" so comments could be followed, especially. But, it is what it is. Blogger will continue to develop and improve, I'm sure.
DeleteI don't think feeling pain when you walk is an excuse for not exercising. I sprained my ankle a few years ago and the doctor told me that it would have possibly been better tohave broken it. I found out what she meant as I had problems with my ankle for over a year and had to keepit bandaged most of the time. That was a decisive factor when i bought my flat.
ReplyDeleteWhat a blessed way to wake up. I was reading stats on Happiness Research last week and one of the ways to be happy is to be thankful and express gratitude every day. Again they prove that the bible is true. This isn't news to us.
ReplyDeleteI sympathize with your WW thing. I got back online in the Spring, before this trip and lost 15 lbs but finally shut down the site last week as this visiting and going out for meals and to others' homes for special meals for us was depressing me. Also I walked the first day we got here 5 weeks ago and haven't since except for touring museums and shopping. I was startled that I was only up a half a pound when I got brave enough to weigh this morning. That poked me into deciding to join again as there is a 40% off sale on right now. We will finish visiting and be on the road again on Sunday....my new start up WW day.
Good luck, Karyn. I KNOW it's just a matter of not over-doing it. True with anything in life. I guess good food is my addiction. I can't just eat two slices of pizza, or a sliver of cake, etc. Glad my sizes didn't change so much that none of my clothes fit. Elastic is my favorite thing! LOL
DeleteCan I first say thank you so much for the anniversary wishes!! I can't wait to see you in a couple of weeks! I was so sad when I closed my Yahoo360 but there was excitement because soooo many of us were heading to Multiply but sadly with the closing of Multiply there wasn't a clear choice for all of us to migrate to. I left some really good friends at Multiply. I gave them my contact information and hope they will be able to stay in touch with each other. I really hope they join Blogger! Good luck with your diet! I've gained over 10lbs since Lauren's wedding. I joined a site that Lauren recommended, it's called Loseit.com..I love myfitnesspal but I thought I would give Loseit.com a try since Lauren is there.
ReplyDeleteKris, I will go look at Loseit.com. I thought writing down eveyrthing I eat, and tracking calories would help, but it just has me feeling sorry for myself! LOL Dieting is boring. Weight Watchers worked for me because I had to get weighed in each week. When we changed insurance and the new one doesn't reimburse for WW, I decided to drop the expense. Big mistake. Answering to myself each week just doesn't have the same effect that getting on a scale in front of a stranger has. Can't wait to see you and meet your sister!! T.
DeleteKeeping a food journal is the key to my weight loss. I'm allowed 1404 calories a day on Loseit.com. I think that is pretty doable. WW is such a great program but it can get really costly.
DeleteGood list, I'm back in work mode, sort of. Have a good week.
ReplyDeleteI've also joined myfitnesspal but I've been slacking the last couple weeks. (no one to push me) I thought it would help me be more disciplined. I know what you're talking about... losing contact with friends when Yahoo360 closed down. That's where I started blogging and made so many online friends, then we all moved to Multiply and it was great. Now they've all scattered in different directions or are going to quit blogging altogether. It's sad but such is life. You have a good day tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteI lost 40 and gained back 20. I love food, but mainly I'm a stress eater. This last year just kicked my butt! I also do better when I track calories, but I stopped doing that a year ago when my laptop started overheating and couldn't be left on all day. I really need to get serious again. I've lost two lbs since last week. Rah. lol
ReplyDeleteI have met a number of cyberfriends over the years, but not as many as you have, I don't think. One of them, I even attended her wedding!
I need to get back to exercising. Once you stop doing it it's so hard to get back to it. I like taking walks but in the summer it's just too hot. Now that it has cooled off I really need to get back to walking.
ReplyDeleteI use sparkpeople.com. Well I used to. I do still go everyday and sign in. I really need to get back to logging my food and blogging there. I need to work on portion control. I can't eat a sliver of cake either. Hope you find a program that you like that will work for you. Have a great day!
I haven't met any JustMoms people/Yahoo 360/Multiply, but being the only Canadian and so far from everyone, that's to be expected. :( I want to stay in touch with you as well, but Blogger just won't work for me for some reason. I'm not going to keep my LIveJournal since I'm at Yuku. We'll figure something out!
ReplyDeleteTerri, do you know anything about the progress of the new site that Multiply is switching to? I heard about it, but lately I've heard nothing about what's going on. I don't think at this point I will move from blogger, but I might be interested in an additional site if I like what I see. Anyway, I was just wondering if anything was up yet and where to find it, if you knew.
ReplyDeleteHey Julie ~~ There is a test site in the works called Civatar that I'm a member of. They are developing a site similar to Multiply, using this site to get ideas and work out the kinks. Still testing, and have acouple more months to go, but hoping the new site replaces Multiply, and is better than ever.
DeleteTheresa
You are a great source of inspiration to me Terri. I promise I will keep trying to figure out blogger though. LOL It doesnt' take much to confuse me!
ReplyDeleteI too started out a member of Yahoo 360, then came to Multiply. Great friendships have been formed there. It's so sad to see everyone moving in so many different directions. But I'm blessed and thankful for the friendships I've made, and the people I've met. Hope that if your ever in the Upstate area of NY, you come visit us. Fall is a beautiful time around these parts. Apple picking, hay rides, falling leaves....etc.
