Multiply Import....

Well, my friend, Linda mentioned that she saw a link on Multiply to allow us to export our Multiply 'stuff' to Blogger.  I immediately went to my Multiply site, and sure enough, the link is under your picture!  I have about 5-years' worth of data there, so not sure how long it will take, or how ridiculous it will look, once it gets here, but I'm in the process right now.  Sure hope it is all in one file and that my new friends here won't have to be bothered by it.

There really isn't anything there that I would die for if it is lost, and I did delete a few of the very early things.  I guess I'll know a little later how it is working.

I intended to do a 10-Thought Tuesday post, so will do that now....

  1. The Board meeting went well today, and I'm glad that is over and behind us;
  2. I'm excited about the Multiply stuff coming over to Blogger;
  3. I will stay connected at Multiply for awhile yet, until a couple more folks decide where they are going;
  4. I am taking Friday afternoon off, so Joe and I can look at mattresses and sofas, to get an idea of what we want and how much money we will need.  The mattress comes first, and we may buy it online if that is better for us price-wise.  I get free shipping with Amazon Prime;
  5. We need to make a grocery run tonight, after work.  I really hate grocery shopping, but it seems like we are there twice a week;
  6. It was delightfully cool this morning, but it is too soon to switch clothes around in the closets, as we will have 90 degree temps again for awhile yet;
  7. I bought some patterns recently, thinking I need to start sewing again.  We'll see....
  8. My sewing machine is a Singer, and was top-of-the-line back in 1973.  That should tell you what my sewing machine is like....LOL
  9. My mom was an amazing seamstress and made the majority of our clothes when we were growing up.  I did not appreciate it as I should have!!  She also worked full time!
  10. One of our Board members has been fighting cancer.  It was in remission for a couple of years, but she had a set-back six months ago.  It was great to see her at the Board meeting today!!  Praise God.
 So, that's it for now.  I'll go check on my import process!!  Peace, love & hugs!

  1. The link has been on my page for most of the month of September, but because I was in the US until yestersay. Oh, I had access to a computer and an ipad. I couldn't download anything since the computer didn't have FF or Chrome and the ipad only Safari. i've finally posted what I wanted to save in Aunt Bean's Multiply. I suppose it'll show up for you, but I made a new blog just for the multipy material from which I deleted some posts.

    a sewing machine, even one as old as yours, can be handy to have. I used to make a lot of my own clothes too. I think a lot of us did.

  2. I only got through the first paragraph. I want you to let me know how this works for you. I would have to wait until I had a secure connection. Right now in this RV beach resort on Lake Superior it fades out every now and then. If this works I will think you are a saint/angel/WonderWoman. I have about 2 years of journals I would like to keep from Multiply. I tried saving from Yahoo when I switched to Multiply but only got the first few pages. It was a bummer. Maybe they are still there. I must check. But right now I want to catch up to where we left all the relatives behind to start back west across Canada.

    1. Karyn, it didn't work for me. It tried twice. The files 'came over' but Blogger stopped twice during the import process, saying the server stopped. I have 5-years of blogs and 'junk' on Multiply. That's a lot of data to transfer. I'm not going to try it again. There is nothing there that I need to keep. The photos are all duplicates and my blogs aren't a journal, so I'm letting them all go after this weekend. I'll delete my site and forget about Multiply. :-(

  3. So I went back to read your 10 Tuesdays. It is a good idea to help keep you grateful. Being grateful evidently is one of the ways to fight old age and to be happy. #4 is the one that hit me as we will need to do that too when we ever settle down. I sold my bed at our yard sale as I knew it was 2o years old. Mattresses are expensive, but a good one gives you such a good sleep. Pay extra to get it right. Or you could sleep on the floor.

  4. Glad you found the information on Multiply. Hope it will transfer easily. #8 I will have to take a picture of my sewing machine and show you....lol....I made all of my kids clothes too, but havent sewed a stitch in years and years. You might spur me on to make something this winter.

  5. You disappeared from Multiply! I haven't been coming over to read your blogs b/c the M link was to Google+, but I'll have to now to see what you're up to. We are having the very cool mornings with warm (high 80's, even some low 90's) afternoons, too. It makes it very difficult to dress your children for school! lol

  6. I have one of those sewing machines too. The timing went all haywire and I've never gotten it fixed. My eyesight is too bad now to do any sewing.
    I did that transfer from Multiply but lost it. It was suppose to be here, but I don't know where it went. I'm still learning this blogger set-up.
    We've turned rather cool here in Ohio, and I'm not a happy camper. I hate winter.

  7. Sewing is something that I always wished I knew how to do! My sister has a sewing machine from the mid-1970's. I think she might have sold it at a garage sale though. I loved the table that the sewing machine sat in. I would have a kept it just for the table..lol. I downloaded all my Multiply files to my computer but not to Blogger because I didn't want to go through picking a choosing what files I wanted Blogger to have. Some of my blogs go way back to the Yahoo360 days.

  8. I haven't tried importing my Multiply blogs yet. I used to copy them and put them here on Blogger as a back up for myself so most of them should already be here.

    I have my Mom's sewing machine. It's from Sears. I have no idea how old it is. She made my clothes when I was in grade school.

    Enjoy your day!
