Thankful Thursday...

I 'borrowed' my title from my friend, Linda.  She asked the question in her blog today, 'what one thing are you most thankful for?' (paraphrased)  I couldn't think of just one thing, I have an entire list (as I'm sure most of us do).  I just feel blessed every day, with my faith, my family, my home, my job, my friends...food to eat, clothes to wear, a car to drive.  Oh my.

Anyway, her question has had me feeling pretty humble and blessed today.  Thanksgiving should be something we do every day, not just one day in November.  I decorate my office door according to the season.  I'm the only person in the entire building who hangs things on my door, but I keep doing it, and have for most of the 15+ years I've been here.  I have a drawer in one of my file cabinets that is storage for "my things".  This is what is hanging there now.  I'll swap it out for Halloween, but I consider this to be my 'generic' fall decoration.

Be thankful always.  It's a good way to live.

You all know that I am a "crazy cat lady" by now, especially if you've looked through the pictures I posted in one of my tabbed pages.  I found this today and wanted to share it.  I love the Simon's Cat videos.  This picture is so true.  Any box, any size, will attract any or all of our cats.  They even will spat over who gets to get in.

I get to pick up my new computer glasses today.  I was amazed that they would be ready over-night!!  I'll for sure have a picture for you tomorrow.  They aren't much different from my 'regular' glasses.  By the way, I've worn glasses since first grade (age 6).  I had contacts for three years, but they can't fit me with contacts anymore - bifocals and astigmatism makes it just too difficult.  I don't mind, actually, since I've worn glasses for so long.

I hope you have all had a good day, and wish you a good evening ahead!!  Until tomorrow - peace, love & hugs!!

  4. Arent cats so funny! Just when you think they "wont do that again", they do! I love to decorate or used to love to decorate for the seasons. Circumstances prevent that now, but I have good memories and love what you have on your office door. Cant wait to hear if the glasses work, and see you in them. TOMORROW IS FRIDAY!!!

  5. I love Simon's cat too, epecially the video in which the cat hits him with a baseball bat to wake him up and then pretends to be asleep. I'm sure you've seen it. I haven't worn glasses all my life, but do tend to wear them most of the time now. You're right. We have many things we should be grateful for. I love your door decoration.

  6. that's a pretty door decoration! I have a "Blessings" metal sign that hangs on my front porch door nearly all year round (except for December when it is replaced with a wreath).

I love Simon's Cat stuff. However, in my house, all boxes belong to Leo. Maxie knows bad things will happen to him if he helps himself to one of "Leo's boxes."

  8. I also like your office door hanger. I feel the same way you do. I have so much to be thankful for, I feel very humble when I think of all God has given me. My life, just for starters. When I was 16 months old, I came down with scarlet fever. They almost lost me. 65 yrs. later, I still feel my life has been a gift and I never take it for granted. The cat is so funny. My mother had a cat that kept us entertained. Whenever she came home with groceries, she always made a point of throwing one of the bags (back then it was paper.. hahaha) onto the floor. The cat would lay across the room, stare at the bag opening, then make a flying dash into the bag. He'd slide all the way across the room. It was so funny to watch him.
Sorry for writing so much. I feel chatty today. You take care.

  10. We all have so much to be thankful for, that we just don't realize it. As we speak, John is in Mexico giving thanks for all God's blessings.

Hope your new glasses work out fine for you Terri.
