The weekend winding down....

Nice to have a slower Sunday.  Yesterday kept us hopping.

Doing the laundry (as usual on Sunday), and finally getting the bookkeeping caught up.  I do books all week at work, and don't do it here at home as I should.  It piles up and I could shoot myself for letting that happen.  Much easier to do a little each week!!

We caught up on all the seasons of the TV show, Breaking Bad.  Violent, scary, and so well done.  We really became addicted to it (no pun intended!).  Now we are catching up on Hell on Wheels (the name of a town).  It is post-Civil War and the railroad race, from coast to coast is on.  Very good show.

We did go next door this afternoon, to see our neighbor's re-furbished kitchen.  They had some work done, and it makes such a difference.  They had a drop-ceiling removed, got new stainless appliances and had new lighting installed.  It looks so nice.  Ours needs some work, too.  All it takes is money.  Sigh.  Right now we are saving for a new mattress and sofa.  First things first.  We got our pool redone last year.  Maybe in another year we can start the kitchen.

I am making lemon sorbet in our ice cream maker.  We will have pulled pork BBQ for our dinner.

Wishing you all a good week ahead!!  Peace, love & hugs.

  1. I meant to tell you that my friend's niece played a role on the Cdn show, Flashpoint, the other night. She played the daughter, Mae or something. I didn't see it but I hear that she did a great job!

    1. I thought Flashpoint was off the air. It isn't playing down here now. I'll have to go on-line and see what's up.

  2. We have left all the relatives. I need your laundry services as I already have a bag built up after only 3 days. I hate using laundromats as most are not neat and natty. We feel some relief to be heading home even though it will take 3 weeks. Today is relaxing as we left the last of family at a free camp in the hills above Toronto and headed out on a lovely freeway with hardly any traffic. I will try to catch up my blog and get back to only having to do one every few days. I also need to rejoin WW and get back walking as I won't have the kids to keep me moving. Sigh

  3. I had my grandson Andrew over today so of course, we had to watch football. We watched the Lions vs. Titans...such an exciting game...too bad our team lost. I think both teams played well. While watching I went through my closets and dressers and removed all the summer clothing and unpack 5 tubs of fall and winter clothing. I live in such a small space I have to do this every season change. I am exhausted and ready to shower and head to bed. Have a nice night.

    1. Kris, we haven't had it long. I've done vanilla and chocolate ice cream and now am trying the sorbet. It is VERY easy to use. We got the kind that you freeze the 'bowl', so you don't have to use salt. We love it. Linda is the one who talked about hers, and made me want one... LOL. It's HER fault!

    1. Linda, it is the recipe that came with the machine. I will tell you that it didn't set in the machine, so I had to put it in a container for the freezer. Hope to have some tonight. I followed the recipe exactly - not sure what might have gone wrong. It wasn't even slushy, but it tastes good - sticking my finger in it. I'll let yu know tonight!

  6. Pulled pork that sounds yummy!
I'm exhausted from my Sunday. A friend asked for a ride to church, worked in Children's Ministry, ran over to sign up for a womens retreat, SS, stayed after to help beautify the church - landscaping / planting, had the girls run boxes over to a friend as I worked who is moving, took two friends home... sat for 15 minutes, went to guitar - and then encouraged the kids to finish their homework as well as fixed dinner, laundry, etc.... Make sure they had all their stuff for school today zzzzz I think my Sunday was your Saturday!

  8. I almost bought an ice cream maker this summer. I tried out several new recipes on my family as I usually do when I visit.
