Bad splitter....

Last night, after our movie was over, we popped it out of the DVD player and expected to watch a little more TV before going to bed.  HORROR....no picture on the TV!!

After rebooting the "box", Joe gave up and called Brighthouse technical customer service.  The woman who was working late on a Saturday night seemed to be American and well-spoken!  Wonder of wonders!  After 45 minutes of trying this and trying that, she gave up and said she would send a technician to our house 'tomorrow'.  I was amazed at Sunday service, but he showed up within the two-hour window we were given, and he determined that we had a bad splitter.  Not sure what that is, but he fixed it, and did some tweaking, and we have our cable TV back.  Whew!!

We are TV addicts.  Hate to admit it, but we have the TV on all the time, and we follow so many shows that we have to use the DVR for about half of them.  Also, tonight is the first time the Eagles will be playing a game that is actually televised.  Now, we have four TVs in the house.  The 'big screen' is in the living room (where the Ryder Cup is on, right now), Joe has a 32 inch on the wall in his "man cave/office" and there is a small flat screen in our room and the guest room.  It's not like we would have missed anything, because only the living room TV was having problems.  But football just looks better on 60 inches, I guess.

Anyway, disaster averted and we once more have a happy home.  All anxiety has abated and life is good again!  LOL

I have the last load of laundry in the dryer.  Decided to put off doing the sheets until tomorrow evening, when I can take them out of the dryer and put them on our NEW MATTRESS!  I am so looking forward to going to bed tomorrow night!

That's really all I have for you, for today.  I'm grilling steak for dinner and have some fresh strawberries to clean and slice.  Guess I'll get up and start getting organized for all of that.

Hope you have all had a good Sunday!  I am going to delete my Multiply site before I go to bed tonight.  I still hate saying good-bye over there.  I've added some photos here, of the Multiply friends I've met in person through the years.  Check out my photo page for a peek.  Peace, love & hugs!

    1. Brenda, I intended to stay until November 30th, but I really want to just end it there. I've deleted a few people who never posted anymore, and left a few who I really don't want to lose....but I really do like Blogger. It doesn't have a few things that Multiply does, but that's just the way it will be. I'm glad you are here!

    2. Terri, did you go in and delete each individual post and photo or did you just delete the account? I've heard that some believe everything needs to be deleted one by one. Just wondering your opinion on that.

  3. Thanks, Terri. I have also made a page on ipernity, but it seems as dead as MP, not to mention some people have lost their accounts there and are going to myopera.com. I don't need any more sites.

  4. The beauty of Blogger/Google+ is being able to follow blogs on other platforms. I am following a couple of people on LiveJournal. I don't blog there, but can follow them and comment. That's the only other site I am keeping open.

  6. Wow, that's a lot of TVs for 2 people! LOL I have one. I can't say that I follow any shows because I frequently forget from one week to the next what show is on which channel since the newspaper stopped putting a TV guide in the Sunday paper available at stores (trying to get people to subscribe). Some days the TV doesn't even come on! It's used mostly for Wii games these days...

  7. I have to confess, our tv stays on from "get up" til "bedtime". We have 4 tv's but none are the big flat kind....still the old bulky ones, but they work, so til they all die, guess we will stay put. Revenge comes on tonight for new season and that is my fav, so will stay up for it at least. Otherwise, I am very weary and need rest. I know you will enjoy and rest better on the new mattress!

    1. I've wondered about Revenge, Linda. It looks good, but we will need to find the first season and catch up. We watch Once Upon A Time, and started DVRing that new 666 Park Avenue. Revenge is on between. Thanks for letting me know it is a good one!

  8. Sorry about your TV probs. We're like Linda, the TV stays on all day mostly to keep me company.

Glad to see you over here at Blogger. I think you'll like it more and more as you continue to use it.

  9. I'm going to leave Multiply this month, probably. I think I've got everything downloaded and moved over to Blogger. I too am sorry to see it go. I really miss the frequent contact but the ones who followed me are blogging and using G+ as well as my new friends. So glad we connected Terri!

    Have a good week!

  11. the sign above said my comment was published but the screen was blank as I hadn't started yet....another weird blip

Mattresses are very important to good health and a proper rest. You may find you are in a better mood all day and have more energy. We need one to when we settle in to a suite again.

  12. My in-laws keep the tv on 24/7. I remember once before dh and I were married we got ready to sit down to eat, and I turned off the tv, something we always did in my house growing up. As soon as the prayer was said, fil said, "who turned off the tv?". I was sooo embarrassed! My kids (A, especially) would have it on all the time, if I'd let them, where my parents hardly had it on at all when I was growing up. Families are just different!
