Friday Fotos...

I do have a few new photos to share and also a sweet, amazing story!

First, Casper is feeling more at home.  He has explored every cupboard he can open and notice how he sits on things... that one leg/paw is always hanging over. So funny and so cute.  He and Vinny tolerate each other.  Not sure they will ever be cuddle friends, but tolerating is good!

I did get my hair cut on Wednesday, by one of Casper's humans (Linda).  She gave me a great cut but it is shorter than I usually like it.  It will grow fast and I will see her next month for a very little trim.  I like her.

Vinny and Casper with that hanging paw...

Our Mas Verde Thursday dinner group kind of fell apart for last night but it turned out so good!  Tim and Judy are fighting colds so stayed home.  Larry and Sharon had something else going on so they didn't come either.  But, my new neighbors across the street drove Susan and me, and Donna met us at Cheddars.  We had so much fun getting to know each other and we laughed a lot.  While waiting for our table, a woman and her son (teen) came in and she said something about sugar melting in the rain (it was raining when we all came in).  We laughed about that and talked a bit.  We were seated and forgot about it, but before we left, she and her son were leaving.  She stopped at our table and offered to pay for our dinners.  We all said no, but thanked her... she didn't have to do that but then she went to the waiter and paid for our meals - $95 plus change!  Oh my gosh!  We were all kind of blown away.  What a lovely surprise.  Here is our picture but I didn't get one of our good Samaritans...

I will see Helen after work today and need to stop at the grocery before I get home from there.  Tomorrow, I am heading out for Ocala to help our blogging friend Barb get rid of two lamps she is selling.  Hooray for me!!  I decided that since I was going to be that close to Interlachen and blogging friend Pam that I would hop over there (45 minutes from Ocala) and see Pam and also visit Dixie Cottage!!  An extra plus is that she invited me to have lunch at their church's Saturday potluck luncheon!!  I grew up on Methodist Church potlucks!!  So how great is that?!  Sure wish it wasn't so far away and also sorry I won't have time to connect with blogging friend Linda while I am up there (so sorry, Linda!).  It will be a long day, mostly on the road, but it will also be fun seeing my friends!!  Prayers for travel mercies are appreciated!

Happy Friday and happy weekend!

Peace & Hugs!

  1. What a great post!! Casper and Vinny are both so handsome and cute!! I am sure they will be great friends and a joy to you. I love that you are getting to know your new neighbors already and what a sweet thing for that lady and her son to do! Some people are just so thoughtful! OH! I can't WAIT for you to get here tomorrow! We will have a great time. I do wish your could bring Barbara and Linda and anyone else who wants to tag along. Pot lucks always have plenty of food for everyone and then some! Oh, I meant to tell you the dinner is in the Fellowship Hall, right beside the Sanctuary, in case you are wondering what building to go to. I'll be watching for you. Have a great visit with Helen (I pray). See you soon!!

  7. Oh wow, that lady takes 'random acts of kindness' to a whole new level! That's a beautiful surprise!
I love how Casper's making himself right at home. That pix of him disappearing into the cupboard is a hoot.

Please tell Pam and John "hi" from me ... wish I was there!

PS - I think your hair looks great!

  8. Cats have quirks just like people do! What a wonderful gesture for that stranger to pick up your bill, Terri. That sort of thing doesn't happen often enough, but when it does, we have no choice but to be grateful.
Enjoy your weekend visit with Barb and Pam! wish I could be there, too.
    Blessings!
