The Wednesday Hodgepodge...

You can join the Hodgepodgers HERE!  Thanks to Joyce for today's questions!!

Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 478

Wait! One quick item of business before you run off...there will not be a Hodgepodge next week (September 28). The Hodgepodge will resume the following Wednesday, October 5. Now carry on.

From this Side of the Pond

1. Volume 478.  Sounds like a lot. Where were you in 1978? If you weren't born where were you in 2008?  In 1978 I was living in Maryland and working in DC, married to my first husband. Enough about that!

2. Raise your hand if you remember records playing at a speed of 78 rpm? (hand raised - but they were my mom's records, not mine!)  What's a topic that when it comes up you 'sound like a broken record?  Dare I mention politics?  Some people get tired of me telling them how great "Somebody Feed Phil" is on Netflix.

3. What's the last thing you recorded in some way?  Does my blog count?  I left a message on someone's voice mail a couple of days ago...

4. Thursday is the first day of fall (in the northern hemisphere). How do you feel about the changing seasons?  Here in Florida, I am thrilled to put summer behind us and welcome our beautiful fall and winter weather.  Something you're looking forward to this fall?  We have a D'Orsaneo reunion coming up in October!

5. In what way (or ways) are you like the apple that didn't 'fall far from the tree'?  I have mentioned it before.  My dad taught me to drive and I tend to exhibit his lack of patience behind the wheel.  Sigh.  I like to think I channel some parts of my mom but those are big shoes to fill.  She was an angel on earth.

6. Insert your own random thought here.  Our Southside Cleaners sign rang my bell yesterday when I was stopped at the traffic light...

There's that broken record again...

Peace & hugs!!

Come on lift up your hands for Jesus say
We give you praise Lord, we give you praise

  1. Oh, I love that sign at the cleaners...sadly so very true. I know I get tired of biting my tongue...and if we keep doing that "they" will take over entirely...something to ponder...Yes, I remember 78 RPM records too. My dad had quite a collection of them. In 1978 we were living in Ft. Pierce, FL, where my hubby was pastoring our first "real church". He had been a youth pastor before that. Our boys were 7, 5, and 1 years old. I was a very busy young mother and pastor's wife. I sometimes don't know how we did it when I look back. Oh to have that kind of energy again! LOL. Makes me tired just thinking about it. LOL. Have a blessed and wonderful day, and keep lifting up your hands for Jesus!! Amen!

  3. What a great sign, Terri, and a wonderful reminder to NOT be afraid to speak the truth, in love, of course. :) I can't wait for fall either!
    Blessings!

  4. Hi Terri: That sign is so true, we need to get back to the way things were.
People are afraid to even say things like hello for fear they will offend someone, if someone says you look so nice today, I am a lady and thank them not say oh he or she is trying to get into my pants. it's a shame I long for the good old days.
    Yes, your blog counts.
Records are coming back along with a better record player.
    Have a great day.

  5. We love 'Somebody Feed Phil', too!
The only thing I've recorded recently is my daily weight, BP and food diary in Excel. (Can someone say, OCD?)

Am I thinking this isn't the re-scheduled cousins' reunion next month? I'm anxious to break bread with you again sometime!

  6. A family reunion sounds like fun. I haven't heard of Somebody Feed Phil. I will look for that since you say it's good. So glad you play along each week. My girls always appreciate your comments too. Hope you have a great rest of your week!

  7. I remember those 78 rpm records too.
It was my mom who was impatient behind the wheel, and so am I. :)
The dry cleaner sign is perfect!

  8. Hooray for the courage of the dry cleaner to post that sign!!! It is so true. Our country needs so much prayer and so do many who need to know Jesus before it is too late for them. They need to want to be enveloped in His Love.

  9. I enjoyed your answers this week. Trying to play catch up on commenting. Sometimes I'm not a patient driver.
