The gator guy was back this week, still trying to trap the big gator reported to us by a fisherman on one of the lakes reserved for bank fishing. Troubling because if one can fish from the bank, a gator could easily find its way onto that bank where a grandchild and grandma might be fishing. Well, he got lucky on Thursday and took two very big gators and two smaller ones out of that lake!! He stopped outside the office on his way out, and the guy kneeling is the co-worker who took the call and enlisted the gator guy to handle it. I took this through the screen and then promptly ran out to get a better look!
Boss, Mrs. Boss, and Monika came over for dinner on Saturday. I made baked ziti with meatballs and chicken breast, had a salad, and made an apple crisp dessert with ice cream. Mrs. Boss made a loaf of delicious crusty bread and brought wine. We were well fed and had fun playing a board game.
Sunday school and church yesterday. So good for my soul. Also good news was the report that Polk County only had 500 new Covid cases reported this past week!! Polk County has a population of over 602,000 people. Wonderful news. I got my laundry done and ate some leftover ziti for my supper.
I will see Helen today, after work. I have a dental appointment on Wednesday afternoon. I am taking cupcakes to work on Thursday for one of our employee's retirement luncheon. Will be baking them Wednesday evening. This is the weekend coming up that will find me visiting my sister, Tammy, up in Georgia. I need to bake some pumpkin bread to take with me (her request). Need to get busy!!
All I can say is that a whole lot of trust is put in duck tape!
ReplyDeleteThe gators have very little force to open their mouths so the duct tape works fine. It's the chomping down that uses the force and keeps the prey from getting loose.
DeleteThat is a big gator. That is nice that your co-workers get along and have get-togethers outside of work. Your dinner sounded yummy.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Those gators are scary! Loved the photo of you in your Halloween headband, Terri. You certainly had a fun weekend, and I hope your week is full of blessings.
ReplyDeleteAnd would you offer a prayer for me? I'm having surgery on my gums today, and I need all the prayers I can get. Thank you, my friend!
You look marvelous, Terri! You can keep those gators down there, lol. Have a beautiful day, friend.
ReplyDeleteYes, you look so cute! I seriously love the headgear! Glad to hear your dinner party was great fun; I never thought about combining meatballs and chicken breast, too. Yum!
ReplyDeleteMrs. Boss doesn't eat beef or pork - just chicken and turkey. I didn't bread the chicken, like chicken parm, but browned it in a skillet. It worked fine.
DeleteThat photo of you is adorable! You should have that one printed out! And how interesting to see those gators. I've wondered about the people I see fishing around here. It would be much luck to 'catch' the interest of a gator instead of a fish! Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteHow do they catch the gators? Do they catch them in a cage - - or loop something over their mouth and drag like crazy? Do they wrestle them?
ReplyDeleteI would probably move inland before dealing with a gator. LOL
The gator guy (I don't know his name) caught these with a fishing pole since they weren't going for the hanging bait. He said the big guy gave him some trouble but he is the professional and knows how to do it.
DeleteWow...I would not want to run into that gator on a bank while fishing. Glad they caught him. You are so busy and you look so happy. You are such an encourager Terri. You always look on the bright side of things and those of us with a more melancholy disposition could learn a lot from you.
ReplyDeleteArlene, I have my moments but I put my trust in God. He is in control and knows better than me. I don't know why, but someday it will become clear. My life goes on and I count my blessings!! Love you!!
DeleteGlad the gator man was able to capture those gators. It looked like you had a good time with your colleagues on Friday night. Saturday's meal sounded delicious. Have a good week, Terri!
ReplyDeleteWowza! Those are some big gators! yeah, I wouldn't want to run into one of those on the bank of my pond. Someone told us there was a big gator on the other side, but I've never seen it or heard it and I kind of doubt it, but I'm not going over there to check either! If he comes over here I will call your people to come and get him! Well, local people like your people, that is! LOL. Love your pumpkin headgear. That's a great picture of you! Sounds like you had a great weekend and good time with the boss and Mrs. Boss and friend! So happy for you to be making good new friends. Oh, happy to hear you'll be heading up to GA to see your sister this coming weekend! That is good news! I know you've wanted to go for a while. Hope you have a safe and happy trip. Better get those cupcakes and pumpkin bread baked!!
ReplyDeleteThose gators! They are scary.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had fun on our outing. Cute pic of you!
I read all of your post and it was great but those gators!!!! Aughhhhh! They sort of stole the show!
