Wednesday Hodgepodge...

Thanks to our hostess, Joyce, for today's questions!  You can be a Hodgepodger HERE!

Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 432

1. As we begin this brand new month tell us, on a scale of 1-10, where does your life fall in terms of being in 'apple pie order'? Please elaborate. (1=nowhere near it, 10=practically perfect in every way)  I'll say 4 moving toward 6.  I'm doing my best to move forward.

2. An apple a day keeps the doctor away...are you doing your part? Red or green? Sweet or tart? Ever played the game Apples to Apples? Do you like apple pie? If so, ala mode or just gimme the pie?  I'm not a big apple fan but when I do eat one, it is a Granny Smith. My favorite is a Cortland from the orchard but can't get them here in FL.  Apple pie is not a favorite.  I'll eat it and it's better with ice cream.  I have the game Apples to Apples and it is kind of fun to play.  I'm not a big game player, though. A game or two is enough.

3. Tell us about a time recently where you 'upset the apple cart' or the last time someone 'upset your apple cart'?  I hope I haven't upset anyone's apple cart and no one has done that to me recently.  Maybe I can say COVID upset my apple cart - a few times.

4. What are three words that come to mind when you think of September?  Joe's birthday is September 5th.  It is on my mind.  It also usually brings a bit cooler temps to central FL.

5. What are you most looking forward to this month?  Cooler weather!  And a trip to see Darlene later in the month.

6. Insert your own random thought here.  Thank you all for your prayers and comforting words, always.  I spoke with Darlene last night. She is doing okay.  Please keep her and all of Cecelia's family in your prayers.

Jesus loves us all!
Wishing a blessed September for all of us!

  1. Like you, I am looking forward to some cooler temps here in Florida with the arrival of September.

As for our lives being "in apple pie order", in spite of outward appearances, we can be assured our Lord is looking out for us and using all that comes our way to pull us closer to Him. I see that in both you and me with what COVID has done in our lives.

    Hugs to you, dear Terri.

  2. Oh I am looking for cooler weather as well Terri. We are supposed to have a lovely weekend in North Alabama after the passing of Ida. Clear skies, less humidity and a high of 80. I will take it.

  5. My mother made the best apple pies ever, Terri!
I will keep everyone in prayer, as I have been, but especially you, dear friend, as Joe's birthday draws near. Dates like that can certainly trigger all kinds of emotions, good and bad. I admire how you've navigated these last months. God bless always!

  8. You know...I was thinking about apple pie and how my mom made the best pie. No one can compare to hers...anyways, keeping in prayer. I am so looking forward to the downwards turn in temps here. smiles

  9. And here I thought I was the only one who doesn't care for apples! It's Tom's favorite, but he's happy with the ones Winn-Dixie makes.
I think you're doing great. Baby steps, dear friend!

  10. I'm so sorry to hear about your daughter's mother-in-law. Yes, a horrible disease and its wily too. We don't seem to have much of a handle on it after all this time. It is still full blown summer temps here, but fall is my favorite and I know it will get here eventually. Take care xo

  11. Never heard of Apples To Apples. Must be a fun game. I used to enjoy a sweet apple every day. Don't do that anymore.
We're praying for cooler temp's too. Usually happens about mid-to-late September. Depends on the wind and ocean currents.
So happy that Darlene is improving. Thankfully she's young and in good health.
Prayers that September 5th is easy for ya. ((hugs))
    Love & Blessings. xx

  12. For sure, covid has upset my apple cart, and world events too. So thankful we have a loving God to help us through these trying times. I am also looking forward to cooler temps, I'm missing time on the porch. It's just been too hot.

  13. I'm so glad to hear this report on Darlene.
I remember Joe's birthday because it's the same as my sister Terri. I can understand it being on your mind.

  14. I have to make myself eat an apple and then I eat it with peanut butter. I only eat it because it supposed to be good for you. Terri, I feel for you. Trying to move forward can be a challenge, but it’s what we have to do. I know you know that. But sometimes along the way, we have to stop and sit for a bit to shed a tear or smile at a memory. Prayers for you as you approach September 5.
