Jose Cuervo
Welcome to Saturday 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every
Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so to speak. We encourage you to visit other participants' posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!
Saturday 9: Jose Cuervo (1983)
Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.
1) In this song, Shelly West sings that she woke up late on a sunny morning. How's the weather in your part of the world? Rain every day lately but then the sun shines. There was a huge very beautiful rainbow yesterday morning.
2) She wonders if she started any fights while under the influence. Who's the last person you quarreled with? I can't remember. Joe and I rarely disagreed and even then we really didn't quarrel.
3) OK, margaritas for everyone! Shelly sings that she likes hers with salt. What's your order? Classic or strawberry? Salt or sugar on the rim? Classic with salt, please.
4) Jose Cuervo was a real person. He was one of the first to put tequila in bottles instead of barrels. Since bottles are easier to ship, it was a good decision. Tell us about a recent choice you're glad you made. Glad I made the choice to splurge on a pedicure!

5) This week's featured artist, Shelly West, decided upon a career in music while still very young. She went on the road and sang backup for her mom, country music legend Dottie West when she was still in her teens. When Sam was in her teens, she really didn't give her professional future that much thought. How about you? Did you already have career ambitions when you were in your teens? Some silly ones... a horse rancher; a beautician; an art teacher; an interior decorator...
6) In 1983, the year this song was popular, Sally Ride became the first American woman in space. Do you ever fantasize about being an astronaut? Absolutely not. I don't even like to fly in an airplane.
7) Also in 1983, quarterback Aaron Rodgers was born. The NFL season is just kicking off. Do you have high hopes for your team this year? I don't have a team. I used to say I was an Eagles fan by marriage. Actually, Joe and I were so disgusted with the NFL that we haven't watched football for a couple of seasons. I won't watch without him... I don't care about the NFL
8) In 1983, Motorola introduced the first cell phone. Do you have an easy time adapting to new technology? Yes, I think I do.
9) Think of the last potato chip you had. Was it plain, sea salt, barbecue, sour cream & onion ...? Plain. I do like sea salt, sour cream & onion, and cheddar... but not BBQ.

Up early this morning to drive to Bham to watch Elliott play soccer! No sleeping in today....like you I am not a fan of the NFL. All the professional sports have become so political. ugh...However I am a college ball fan and I am glad to see the games on Saturday afternoon. I had never heard of Jose Cuervo until one of my friends said that is what she should have named her son because it was after a night of tequila she got pregnant with him.lol
ReplyDeleteI, too, am disgusted with the NFL, Terri. Give me college football, and I'm just fine!
ReplyDeleteSuch a somber day . . . May we never forget.
Blessings!
#5 ~ I had funny ambitions then also! I wanted to be a Cowgirl, like Dale Evans. *lol* That didn't pan out.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your answers.
Blessings. xx
9/11 -- a day of pensiveness and remembrance. Also a day of gratitude to God for the mercies He has shown us in spite of great difficulties.
ReplyDeleteI don't watch football. Occasionally I will watch the Super Bowl but not often.
ReplyDeleteI'm a big football fan but it's hard to sit still for that long so I don't always make the whole game! lol Have a good weekend!
ReplyDeleteAs a child I, too, wanted to be a horse rancher out in the middle of no-where! Smiling at "Eagles fan by marriage." I didn't say anything, but was disappointed when Tom chose to watch the Cowboys/Bucs game the other evening. The NFL disgusts me.
ReplyDeleteNo pro football here, just college. I hope you have a beautiful day, Terri. smiles
ReplyDeleteI had a friend give me a pedicure as a birthday gift one year. She and I went together to get them. It was so nice. I haven't done it since, but I want to. I am glad you got to go wet one.
ReplyDeleteYes, remember 9/11. Same here. Loved your answers. Have a nice weekend.

You don't like BBQ chips? Oh my! Well, I guess we can't like everything! I am not a NFL fan either, but John does like to watch certain teams. I prefer college football if I have to watch it, but I'm not a fan of any football to be honest. Ohio state is playing today, and my mother loved them. When Penn state and Ohio played each other my parents would cheer against each other. IT was fun to hear them. I wonder if there is football in heaven? Have a happy day.
ReplyDeleteBBQ chip fan here. I used to like NFL football but they have ruined it and I rarely watch anymore...in fact, I should just go ahead and say never. I think I do pretty good with technology. It is something I want to keep up with so I am not always bugging my kids to help me...so far pretty good.
ReplyDelete1 The weather is a wonderful 75 degrees.
ReplyDelete2 I never got mad when drinking, I am one of them that is a happy drinker.
3 The only way to go is original with salt.
4 We bought a puppy named him Mikey.
5 My ideal career would have been to be a mother, sadly I could not have children.
6 No and a big no I do not like flying, have had to in the past but do not like it.
7 No its the Minnesota Vikings do I need to say more.
8 I seem to be doing okay with the new IPHONE 12 so far.
9 I eat plain chips, Old Dutch Potato Chip factory started out just blocks from where I grew up, we were able to take paper grocery bags to the back door and the manager would give us all the small chips that did not go in a bag of chips for sale.
Fun post.
