Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 416
1. Find a penny. Look at the date and tell us something about your life or what you were doing that year? Well, I went to my wallet and pulled out some change. This is the one I grabbed and I don't think I need to say anything else about my life in 2020 and what I was doing...
2. Were you given an allowance as a child? Yes. Did you have to earn it in some way? Yes. Did you learn to save money when you were a child or is that something you figured out as an adult? I received $3.50 a week "allowance" that I got for babysitting my brother and sisters after school, starting dinner each night, ironing, and cleaning the upstairs every week, and spent it on 45 rpm records. I didn't save it and never learned until MUCH later that saving is important. But I did have a nice collection of 45s in one of those little box carriers with a handle on top. I think mine might have been this color too...
3. April 23rd is National Take A Chance Day...what's a chance you need or want to take? I actually have an interview today with a temp agency for a job that seems like it will fit the bill but I don't know what the company is yet, just that it is close to my home which is great. I sure need to take a chance on it and start getting a paycheck. 9:00 - 2:00 Monday-Friday. Wish me luck!
4. What's some outdated slang you seem to use a little too often? I say 'holy moly' a lot. Not sure it is outdated but I suppose it is. I am. How about "good gravy"?
5. It's National Poetry Month and I always like to make us work our brains a little...
Violets are blue
....you fill in the rest with something original...

I had a box of 45s too. I spent my allowance on them too.
ReplyDeleteGood luck at your job interview.
Have a great day!
The Lord bless you and keep you. I am praying for this job interview, for clarity of understanding if this is the one. Love you, Girl!
ReplyDeleteI still have my two boxes of 45s. I was obsessed and spent every cent of my babysitting money on them. I can't throw things away...it's a problem:)
ReplyDeleteI am saying a prayer right now for the job interview.
I do hope this potential job is the right match for you, Terri. I'll keep you in prayer!
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
I've not heard of Rebel but will have to check it out. I loved your mention of the 45's and the box. We had one similar, the top was baby blue but the box was white with a design of some sort on it. We loved our records!! Hoping this is the job for you!!
ReplyDeleteGood poem...lol We are watching the new season of Death in Paradise too and enjoy it. Wishing you well with the job interview and hope it's what you want.
ReplyDeleteI'm laughing out loud at your poetry ... and nodding right along.
ReplyDeleteGosh, young Myra sure would have been envious of young Terri's record case! We're enjoying watching Rebel, too. Something different! Crossing fingers this interview turns out to be the perfect fit!
Good luck with the job! I'll send good vibes your way.
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed and a prayer spoken for your job!
ReplyDeleteI scrolled down and read about Lakeland--I didn't know that Frank Lloyd Wright bought homes there. I've been to Hollyhock House in Los Angeles and am a fan of FLW's architecture.
Frank Lloyd Wright designed and build 12 building on the campus of Florida Southern College. You can google it!!
DeleteWe're hodegpodge neighbors today! I loved reading your answers. The 2020 penny definitely gave me a laugh. Good luck with the job! I'll be praying for a great outcome for you :)
ReplyDeleteLoved your answers! I love that you are fellow former collector of 45s! I had one of those boxes too... mine was red! Wish I had kept it and its contents... that was some darned good music! Enjoy the rest of your week!
ReplyDeleteHope you had good luck today.. :)
ReplyDeleteI say cool too often...
ReplyDeleteI like your poem.
Praying about that job for you!
Okay, getting caught up from yesterday's news. I hope and pray for the right position for you. And I loved your other answers. Loved 45 records. Wish I still had mine, but I don't have a record player that works...Those were the days my friend...we thought they'd never end. Take care and let us know when you hear back from the job!
