1. You have just been hired to clean your own home, what is
your first complaint? Don't you EVER clean under the bed?!!
2. Are you able to ignore a ringing telephone? Yes.
3. How often do you allow a ringing phone to go to voice mail? Not often but always if I have company, am in a store, or at a restaurant.
4. Do you answer your cell phone, out in public, every time it rings? Or do you
silence it and get back to it when you’re in a more private area? I don't answer in public if it will bother others. I do use Silence often and always return voice mail.
5. How often would you say you’re on your home phone? Hardly ever. Your cell phone? A few times a day... usually someone selling a car warranty.
6. Do you like talking on the phone or do you view it as a necessary
communication tool? My family and friends all know I am not a big phone talker. I love hearing loved ones' voices but when my arm starts falling asleep, the call is too long.
7. When did you last go for a bike ride? Over two years ago. Joe and I were looking for an adult tricycle and someone had one for sale. We both rode it but it was too short for our long legs.
8. Do you own a bike? No. See above. Haven't found one tall enough yet.
9. Given the most popular New Year’s resolution of losing weight, would you
consider putting bicycle riding as one of your exercise options? I would if I had one. Why or why
not? Because it is good exercise.
10. If you had to name a smell that always makes you nostalgic, what would it
be? Chlorine. What sorts of memories does the smell evoke? It takes me back to when I was nine years old, with my first season pass to the town's swimming pool. The chlorine smell was always strong, the teenagers played Ricky Nelson's Traveling Man on the jukebox (over and over) and I usually had enough money (10¢) for a frozen milky way candy bar on a stick. It was one of those summers that, in retrospect, had a strong impact on my starting to grow up. Mom let me ride my bike there, all by myself, and I rode home when she told me to be home. (Can't imagine letting a young girl ride several miles alone today, but it was fine back then.) I still know all the words to Traveling Man.
11. What did you do over the weekend? No detail is too small. This is your
journal, so tell us about the mundane tasks in your life. I cleaned and did laundry on Friday because I have company this weekend! I will tell you all about it tomorrow in my Weekend Recap!!
12. If it weren’t for my blog, I’d miss having all of my blogging friends, many of who have become in-person friends too!!
13. When was the last time you replied, “because I said so”? Do you find
yourself saying that a lot? Or do you prefer to tell people WHY you want them
to do something for you? I don't know that I have ever said that, actually. When I was a supervisor, I always tried to tell an employee why they needed to do something and it was never 'for me' but was for our organization.
14. What is the worst gift you’ve ever received? I have answered this one before. When I was maybe 12 years old, a neighbor friend gave me a fuzzy pink hat for Christmas. I hated it and never wore it but didn't tell her. She always gave us quirky gifts and I often wondered if she really intended for us to use or wear them...
15. Tell us the worst gift you’ve ever given. What was the reaction of
the recipient? I have no idea, thankfully. If I gave a bad gift, the person was nice enough to not let me know.

I went for a bike ride a few weeks ago. Hubby wants to take our bikes on vacation so he had to get mine cleaned up. . Hubby rides his often but mine has been in our shed for years. I like bike rides. I'm not sure why I never go.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
We still have our bicycles but haven't cycled for two years. I got tired of trying to bike down this awful sandy road or having to take them somewhere before riding. Too much trouble.
ReplyDelete#1 made me laugh I'd say the same thing about me! *lol* I do vacuum under there but it never seems to be often enough. And #2, I ignore mine all the time. If I don't know the number, I don't answer. It's almost always someone from India wanting to sell me insurance and/or a car warranty ...
Do you still have my blog address? I'll put it below.
Sending Love & Prayers. xx

Thanks, Sparky! I just thought you weren't blogging anymore. I put you in my Feedly and won't miss you from now on. Don't know where you went!
DeleteI enjoyed reading your responses. I would love to have a bike, but would have to load it up in the car to ride in a safe manner. Have a blessed day, Terri!
ReplyDeleteToo tall for a bike - lol - wish that was my problem! I don't really like to talk on the phone too much either! Have a nice Sunday.
ReplyDeleteI just ordered myself a adult tricycle, yep. My employer has been sold out for a long time, so I went on Amazon and ordered one...I know, frivolous way to spend part of my stimulus and another thing to move with...but I refuse to get on my 2 wheel bike (fear of falling). I don't talk on the phone much either.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to hear about your company and who it was, smiles.
Hahaha on the car warranty! Tom struggles all the time not to answer his phone ... but I'm the opposite. If I don't recognize the number and it's important, they'll leave a message. We got rid of our landline when we moved. Hard to remember the days when we'd answer not knowing who was on the other end!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed my bicycle throughout grade school, but nowadays the thought of getting back 'on board' terrifies me.
I love your memories of summertime at the swimming pool. Hmmmm... you may well have given me a germ for a future post.
Have a blessed and FUN day with your company!
I am not much of a phone talker either. I hope you find a bike. Loved your answers! Have a nice day.

We discussed over breakfast that we were both Ricky Nelson fans, back in the day!
ReplyDeleteI love the memory you shared here about going to the swimming pool all by yourself. We did live in such a safer generation, didn't we? And I dislike talking on the phone, especially if the call is too long.
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed Sunday!
I love your memories of 9! I can almost picture it and can now hear that song in my head. I remember playing outside much of the day and my mom didn't have to worry about us.
ReplyDeleteI saw on Linda's post that you had Barbara over and went to church together. Makes me happy for both of you. Blogs are a source of some wonderful friendships.
They sure are! I wrote about it for tomorrow's recap.
DeleteOh, I can't wait to hear all about your visitor, now that I know who it was. I love your story about going to the pool in the summer time by yourself. We certainly had more "freedom" back then to go places and play, etc. without the kinds of fears there are today for kids. So sad the way things have changed. I am afraid to ride a bike now since I've had major back surgery. I don't want to fall. Maybe a trike wouldn't be so scary. I could certainly use the exercise. Oh, I liked Ricky Nelson too, and I love Ozzie and Harriet. Good post today. Thank you for sharing!
