Friday Fotos...

Good golly, Friday got here fast this week!!  Continuing with the Friday Foto tradition, started by Deb at Breathing In Grace, here are a few of my photos from this week....

I took this picture and sent it to my BFF Elaine.
If you look closely at the bottom of the window, you can
see doggy nose prints left by sweet Bella.  I haven't cleaned
them off yet.  It is kinda like a grandma wiping off the
grandkids' fingerprints after they go home.
I'll leave them there a while longer!

This has been a busy week for me!  I had breakfast with my friend, Bonnie, on Tuesday.  We met at Herby's and enjoyed our time together.  Bonnie picked up the tab. I hadn't seen her for a long time so it was good catching up on kids and grandkids, etc.  I neglected to take a picture.  We have been friends for over 20 years.  Her dad was an usher in our old church until he passed away and her mom is now in a nursing home.  Time does have a way of marching on.  I visited Helen after breakfast since I was right down the street from her.

Wednesday, I had lunch at Longhorn Steakhouse with my old neighbors, Bob & Ginny, and Ginny's sister, Mary Jane (who takes care of the cats when I am away).  Mary Jane is sitting across from me.  We had a great lunch and talked for well over an hour.  It was fun catching up with all of them and our old neighborhood.  They generously treated me to lunch.  It is getting to be embarrassing with folks paying for my food.  I can pay my own way but friendship is a blessing and I appreciate the love.  Dutch-treat next time!!

Last night was our Mas Verde dinner group outing.  We went to Miller's Ale House (a favorite).  Tim and Judy picked me up (last week and this week) and we met John and Ginny (another Ginny) there.  I DID buy my own meal.  We had a good time talking about lots of subjects.  John & Ginny are heading north in two weeks, so we will see them for one more Thursday night before they are gone for the summer.  I didn't get a picture but will try to remember to get one next week.  We are going to Shell's.  While I was waiting for my ride to come, I snapped this photo.  All of a sudden it got really windy and some clouds blew in,  You can see the flag blowing and the palm tree across the way. It was a hard wind!

This week is Lakeland's Sun 'n Fun Fly-In week and the planes and the people are back!  Mas Verde is close to our airport so I have been hearing planes flying over all week and some of them are really loud.  The Blue Angels were here yesterday.  This picture is from a news story, not mine, but they are quite impressive.  Sun 'n Fun is the second-largest fly-in in the World.  It brings lots of people to town with lots of aircraft of all kinds.  Here is a link.  And here is a quote:

  • The 2021 SUN ‘n FUN Aerospace Expo will be held April 13th – 18th, 2021. Lakeland will host approximately 200,000 guests, volunteers, sponsors, performers, and exhibitors over 6 days at the 2nd largest fly-in event in the world, held right here in Lakeland.

So that's my news and my photos.  I am having lunch with my neighbor, Susan, today. We are going to Glory Days Grill (and she already told me she was paying).  It will be fun catching up with her.  And just to let you know that I have been working a bit here at home, in between all the restaurant outings.  I have cleaned out and organized four of my dresser drawers.  There is a donation pile started.  I cleaned the house one day and I did laundry one day.... so it isn't all about food (wink)!!  Still...

Peace & hugs!  Jesus loves you and me!

  2. Bella's nose print on your door struck me so funny, Terri, because we still have multiple handprints on our deck glass door from the kids' recent visit. I can't bear to clean them off yet, either! So glad you are getting together with friends so much, too. Hey, just enjoy the fact that they want to treat you when you go out. You certainly deserve it!
    Blessings!

  3. It's so nice to see you out having a good time. That warms my heart. I keep hoping that we'll get a Longhorn Steakhouse in Waycross or Jesup. It would be very popular. I like the Blue Angels too. They're so professional. I'm glad they still give shows.
Y'all have a great weekend! xx

  7. What a super week you enjoyed with good food and good friends! That 'wind' photo speaks volumes, doesn't it? Foreboding. I remember that air show, but didn't realize it was the 2nd largest in the world. Great for the tourism industry!

    1. The restaurants are packed with people. It will be interesting to see if all the extra tourists cause a spike in you know what.

  8. My glass doors always has doggie marks on it too! Although it usually isn't nose prints...my little one likes to lick the glass as if he may be able to lick all the way through and get out. Happy Friday!

  9. Oh, what wonderful pictures and stories of your week. Love the Bella prints on the door. That is so sweet. Yes, I would keep them a while longer if it were me. And let those friends treat you...it's their way of doing something for you when they really don't know what else they can do to help you during this time. They are being good friends and showing you their love and respect for Joe's memory. You are blessed to have so many good friends nearby. God is so good to send them to you. I wish I were close enough to take you to lunch too. Hope you enjoy your weekend and the airplanes! We are finally getting rain here. I hope it doesn't rain out your festivities there. Take care and God bless.
