An Adams Family Saturday 9...

The Addams Family

Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants' posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!

The Addams Family (1964)
Unfamiliar with this week's song. Hear it here.

1) One of TV's spookiest families was inspired by a series of New Yorker cartoons. What's the last magazine you flipped through?  Readers' Digest

2) The Addams' butler, Lurch, was originally conceived as a mute. But then actor Ted Lange ad-libbed the line, "You rang?" and Lurch had a voice, and a catchphrase. Can you think of another catchphrase connected to a TV character?  "Kiss my grits!"

3) Now here's the most important question of the week: Do you prefer The Addams Family or The Munsters? I loved them both but probably The Addams Family.

4) What's the scariest movie you've ever seen?  I've seen quite a few but "Silence of the Lambs" came to mind first.

5) Thursday was Halloween.
What goodies did you give the trick or treaters?  We don't get trick or treaters here in Mas Verde.  Our church did Trunk or Treat last Saturday and we donated a bag of mixed Hershey's candy.

6) Are you attending/have you attended any Halloween parties this year?  Not this year.

7) Did you carve a jack o' lantern this year?  No.

8) Do you eat candy corn all year round ... only at Halloween ... or never?  We are not fans of candy corn, so never.

9) In 1964, when The Addams Family premiered, one of the most popular store-bought Halloween costumes was Bambi. It came with a plastic mask held on by a thin elastic band. Tell us about a memorable Halloween costume from your childhood.  I don't remember the characters but I sure remember those plastic masks and hated them.

  1. Those plastic masks were the worst...especially if you wore glasses!
I'm off to a huge craft show with my daughter and sister-in-law today so am trying to get around this morning to the blogs. It is 28 degrees with a thick frost this morning. Brrrrr! Enjoy your lovely, WARM, Florida Saturday!

  2. Candy corn is made of carnauba wax which isn't digested, but passes through the body without breaking down.

How can you possibly not like candy corn?

  5. I'm not a candy corn fan either. But this week, I went to get my hair done, and my stylist had a bowl of dry-roasted peanuts and candy corn at her station. She told me that, eaten together, it would taste like a Payday candy bar. I took one of each and popped them in my mouth. It did indeed taste like a Payday.

Oh, yeah, the Munsters. One of my faves growing up!!

No horror movies for this gal. I frighten very easily!

    Have a great day.

  6. I love candy corn. I just ate three bags of it over the past two weeks. I do not like scary movies. I don't like to be scared period. Between the Munsters and the Addams Family I will always take the Munsters. Great questions and answers this week.

  7. Loved the Addams Family much more than The Munsters, though both shows were fun to watch. Horror films are not my cup of tea, so I can't comment on that. I will say that candy corn is my least favorite candy.
    Blessings, Terri!

  8. You know, candy corn is so pretty to look at but so disappointing on the tongue! I'd totally forgotten about Alice and "Kiss My Grits." Wish there were more shows like that nowadays.

  9. I liked the Addams Family and the Munsters. Don't know which is my favorite.
No trick or treaters here, but I did some little gift bags for our neighbor girls and brought candy to the Trunk or Treat at work.
