Tossed Salad and Scrambled Eggs
Tossed Salad and Scrambled Eggs (1993)
Unfamiliar with this week's song. Hear it here.
1) This is the theme from Frasier, a TV show that ran from 1993 to 2004. Were you a fan? Yes!
2) The show is about a radio advice show host, Dr. Frasier Krane. When you listen to the radio, do you tune in for talk or music? Music.
3) The theme's composer explained that tossed salad and scrambled eggs are both "mixed up," like the people who called Frasier's radio show. Which did you eat more recently, a tossed salad or scrambled eggs? Scrambled eggs.
4) Peri Gilpin played Roz, Frasier's coworker at the radio station. The actress originally cast was Lisa Kudrow, but the show's producers didn't feel she was "right." Being released from Frasier gave her the opportunity to accept a bigger and better part: Phoebe on Friends. Can you think of a time when a setback was really a blessing in disguise? I think most setbacks are usually a blessing in disguise.
5) Dr. Krane shared his home with Martin, his retired dad. Martin's favorite chair was a well-worn recliner, held together in parts with tape. Frasier tried to replace it by giving his father a brand-new, expensive leather chair as a gift. Martin wanted his old recliner back. Tell us about a present you either gave or received that wasn't a hit. Grandson Tristan loved playing Monopoly. We gave him a game for Christmas one year, only to find out he had already gotten one.
6) Kelsey Grammer played Dr. Krane on three different series (Cheers, Wings, and Frasier) over 20 years. What job have you held the longest? I retired from the Polk Museum of Art in July 2017 after 20+ years there.
7) Before he found success on Cheers, Grammer played bit parts on the daytime dramas Ryan's World and Another World. Have you ever followed a soap opera? When I was in high school, I followed All My Children, One Life to Live, General Hospital, and Dark Shadows. They were all 30 minutes back then and started right after I got home from school. Going to work put a stop to soap operas and I've never gotten back into them.
8) In addition to work in front of the camera, Grammer has done voice-over work on commercials for Dr. Pepper and Cheerios. Are either of those products in your kitchen right now? Cheerios. They are Joe's favorite cereal.
9) Random question: You're invited to a party where dinner is served buffet style. There's spaghetti with tomato sauce, barbecue spare ribs, and buffalo wings. When the evening is over, how likely are you to have a food stain on your clothes? Highly likely for me and no doubt at all for Joe.

Thanks for your visit! Happy Saturday!
Peace & hugs! God bless!

Good to know that if we ever share a meal we'll be sporting matching spots! My dad was hooked on General Hospital. It came on just as he was getting home from work and back in the day there weren't that many choices in daytime tv so that's what he watched and you did not talk through it, or else!
ReplyDeleteThe first thing are the same for me. Right now I am praying a setback is going to be a blessing, an I watched General Hospital too. We usually have some form of Cheerios. Spots on both Jim and I are usual! Blessings to you and Joe.
ReplyDelete"I think most setbacks are usually a blessing in disguise."
ReplyDeleteI like your outlook!
"I think most setbacks are usually a blessing in disguise."
ReplyDeleteSo true, Terri. Well done.
God bless.
Love your answers...I too am a music..scrambled eggs and Cheerios girl
ReplyDelete"I think most setbacks are usually a blessing in disguise."...so true. Who would have thought all the ones I had back in the UK..would lead to me now living in the US. The Lord certainly had a Plan for me!!
I used to watch just one "Soap" back in the UK.. Coronation Street..which has been on since the sixties... and still going strong. After five years I dont think I would know any of the characters now.
Phoebe x
Our Canadian snow-bird neighbors watch Coronation Street!!
DeleteWe always have Cheerios too. I watched Frasier and still do. Very funny show.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Another world was my soap... Back in the day the soaps were not as crazy as today and actually dealt with life's issues or so I thought.....They were like family!! :)
ReplyDeleteI’m not much of a soap fan. Except for Dark Shadows. I’ve actually gone to dark Shadows conventions, got autographs from the actors, etc.
ReplyDeleteI can sure attest to setbacks becoming blessings! 'Was just telling Lori, I wish someone would invent fashionable adult-size bibs! Who knows, someone might pitch that to Shark Tank?
ReplyDeleteI would be a mess eating all of that food! Loved your answers! Have a nice weekend!

This was the best show on TV ever. I loved it, I miss good television. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteWe still put it on the DVR and watch it - that was when shows were funny and clean. Can't imagine Lisa as Roz. And I eat more salads but didn't know the meaning of the song. I stain every shirt I wear.
ReplyDeleteFrazier was a very well-done show, and I recall enjoying it. Liked the character in Cheers, too! And I'm likely to wear my food if it's a messy dish - lol!
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend, Terri!
Cereals are enjoyed in this house on a rotating schedule. Tom has 3 and I have 4 (none of them them overlapping), thus they take up a good amount of space in our pantry. Cheerios is one of mine, but oatmeal is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your answers to this meme.
I liked that show too and can hear the theme in my head now.
ReplyDeleteI would have stains on my front if I ate that too... :)
I;ve seen some of the Dark Shadows. They were pretty good! I miss watching soap operas.
ReplyDeleteHaha about you and Joe and stains. I have to buy new shirts for Jay all the time because they always get a nice big stain right on front! Sometimes even on the first time he wears the shirt. I watched All My Children for a short time myself and we always have Wheaties and Cheerios in the pantry, along with a couple others.
