SPRING BEGINS on March 20, 2019
Happy first day of Spring to you!!!
1. The first spring flowers are usually daffodils, dandelions, lilies, tulips, iris. and lilacs. Which one of those choices is your favorite? Have you seen any yet? Of those, my favorite is lilacs and we don't have lilacs in Florida. 😢
2. What is your least favorite thing about spring? Bees and wasps. I'm allergic to the stings and they are always out in force because of the flowers. I know they are important for our food and don't wish them harm... just don't build a nest or hive near me!! I do run (well, I go as fast as I can) and scream like a silly girl when I see them.
3. Okay, what puts a spring in your step? Sunshine, no humidity and days with nothing much to do!
4. What is your favorite springtime song?
and then there is this one...
5. What really says spring to you? Getting through the darkness of Lent and rejoicing on Easter Sunday! That sets the tone for me. Wonderful memories of Easters gone by and the blessings Easter brings to all Christians!
6. Tell us something random about your week. We were invited to Jill and Murray's on Monday evening, spur of the moment, for white chili and cornbread and an evening of playing cards. We had a wonderful time! Yesterday it rained all day and was chilly. Francheska came to do some cleaning. We have haircuts this week, and both of us have fasting labs for our 3-month check-up with our regular doctor. We are at the farm (Joe's client) this morning and our church is having a screening of the animated movie, Pilgrim's Progress, that we may go to at 6:00. I'll let you know if we make it.
Thanks for your visit today!! If you answered the questions on your blog, please link-up with us below!
Peace & hugs!! God bless!!
Lilacs make me think of Spring too!
ReplyDeleteNo lilacs in Florida... oh no, maybe I should rethink wanting to move there.... lol ...who am I kidding... I would still mover there, my Lil Tucker is there! Have a great Wednesday!!
ReplyDeleteIt is sunny today, but 15 degrees! So cold I could actually stand on a snowbank to take pictures of the moon this morning! Eeeek!
ReplyDeleteI love my white iris...they are so big and looks like orchids. My favorite thing about spring is being able to open the windows and leaving the front door open so the light can come in through the storm door. I love being able to be on the porch and see all the flowers blooming and the birds at the feeders. Hope you enjoy your Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteUp from the grave... whooo - taking me back to my old school Baptist days!!!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day at the farm! & let us know how that movie is!!!
Well, of course that is the very best song! How could I fail to mention Resurrection Sunday? I may have to amend my entry today for all the memories. Thank you, Terri. I’m sorry you don’t have lilacs. I think I may have seen an animated version, although it may have been a children’s version of Pilgrim’s Progress.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah we have seen so many wasps lately! I even put up a yellow jacket trap in the yard; was surprised how many we found! They build underground so it's hard to really see when you have a nest.
ReplyDeleteI had forgotten about the Sinatra song. Those guys always bring me fond memories of my childhood. Lilacs are quite lovely, aren't they? We don't have any in our yard and I'm not even sure we have them in our area. Looks like you've got some escort suggestions in the comments in case Joe doesn't want to go to the movie with you. LOL Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteI deleted it before he could see it! LOL I don't know how trash like that gets through. Sorry for anyone who saw it.
DeleteThis is the third time I've reported Mr Mumbai. He spammed Ann and someone else. Did you get a screenshot?
DeleteWe are not amused.
We don't have them in Louisiana either, so I had never seen a lilac until we visited Mackinac Island, MI a few years ago. It also happened to be their annual Lilac Festival that week. They have the most amazing Lilac trees and the fragrance was wonderful. Yes! "He Arose" should be every Christian's favorite song to announce Spring. Thanks for reminding us of that.
ReplyDeleteMy daffodils are coming up. They are only a few inches but it means Spring weather is coming.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
I love lilacs and always look forward to them! I'm out of town so didn't get a post written, but wanted to stop in. I think St. Matthews Passion is my favorite springtime music along with any good Resurrection hymn. I laughed at Pam's comment about the escort service some spammer posted. Have a wonderful Wednesday, Terri.
ReplyDeleteNothing says spring to me more than the daffodils blooming. Unfortunately, ours were going gangbusters until a sudden cold snap dropped them dead in their tracks. At least we enjoyed them for a little while . . .
ReplyDeleteHappy Spring, Terri!
It seems Spring is postponed over here. Still cold.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
I love warm weather but I know humidity is coming with summer so I enjoy those nice spring days. I am with you about wasps....oh those stings hurt so badly. Hope all goes well with your doctor visits. Seems visiting the doctor becomes more frequent the older we get!!
ReplyDeleteWishing you a wonderful day...... a few daffy's sticking up here....
ReplyDeleteI have a white lilac bush in my front yard, it smells amazing while in bloom.
ReplyDeleteI am motivated by the sun too. Loved your answers! Have a great day!

Lilacs are my favorite and one of the saddest things about moving was leaving my hedge of lilacs behind. They just whisper SPRING to me.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a good day and know that soon you will be dealing the summer's humidity so praying you have lots of nice days before that sets in. xo Diana
Happy Spring! We are so happy that spring has finally arrived. I don't have a favorite spring flower...I love them all. Hugs and blessings sweet Terri
ReplyDeleteThat's a shame that you don't get lilacs. They are lovely flowers. It's getting warmer here but the weather is still very mixed. Enjoy the rest of your week Terri.
ReplyDeleteHappy Spring! I love tulips and lilacs! I'm not a fan of pollen though.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving your new background, Terri! We've a little more on our plates than I bargained for, so I won't be able to participate in the Medley. Sure enjoyed both of your song choices, however! Chat soon!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on #2 and #3. Spur of the moment plans can often be the most fun! Happy rest of the week!
ReplyDeleteHappy Spring to you too!! I love lilacs, but like you, we can't grow them here. Not daffodils, tulips or irises either...I love little wildflowers that don't take any work from me to grow, and they are so happy!! Oh, I LOVE the song "He Arose"...always look forward to singing that on Easter Sunday morning, and am disappointed if that isn't one of the choices!! Hope you are having a good week. I enjoy your medley...sorry I haven't participated. But it is fun to see what you have written. Always a treat.
ReplyDeleteOh, how I loved heading out in the mornings at about this time of year in Florida. Before the humidity kicked in they were the most perfect mornings ever!
ReplyDeleteLilacs are so pretty! I'm with you on the bees and wasps, no thank you! Hope you have a blessed day!
