My Favorite Things
Welcome to Saturday 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!
Saturday 9: My Favorite Things (2018)
Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.
1) This week's artist, Jennie Abrahamson, is very happy living in Stockholm, but she refers to Paris as "a flirt." She enjoys her time there so much she always wants to return. Is there a place you've visited that tugs at your heart and imagination, tempting you to return? Tuscany. Loved it.
2) Jennie has said her music has been heavily influenced by 80s pop, which was popular in her early teen years. Are your favorite songs the ones you listened to when you were growing up? Definitely. Love 60s music.
3) "My Favorite Things" is from The Sound of Music. Crazy Sam's high school claim to fame was playing Sister Margaretta in the senior class production. Though not a big part, her performance lives on because relatives love embarrassing her with pictures of her in an especially unflattering nun's habit. Who took an embarrassing photo of you? What were you doing? I am nearly always a behind-the-scenes kind of person and am usually taking the pictures. I haven't seen one that I am embarrassed about. Maybe someone else has one of me...
4) The lyrics celebrate "brown paper packages tied up in strings." What was in the last box you received in the mail? Baby gifts for two friends, from Amazon.
5) It mentions doorbells and sleigh bells. What's the most recent bell or alarm that you heard? This morning at 6:00 a.m. because it is a work day for me this Saturday.
6) This song has nice things to say about cold weather, specifically snowflakes, and mittens. What do you like about winter? I am not a winter person and find that even 50 degrees in Florida is "freezing" to me!
7) Dog bites and bee stings are singled out as things that can leave us feeling sad. What's most recently given you the blues? Getting up at 6:00 a.m. on Saturday kind of gives me the blues but I'll have a 3-day weekend coming up!
8) In 2018, when this song was released, Roger Federer won the Australian Open. Are you good with a racket? What kind of racket? LOL No, I don't play tennis or badminton anymore and I have never run numbers. (wink)
9) Random question -- Your local zoo announced the hatching of three snowy owlets. All males. You won the honor of naming them. Go ahead. Winky; Hootie; Owlbert
Thanks to Crazy Sam for this week's questions! You can join in HERE!!
Thanks for your visit! Peace & hugs!! God bless!!

ReplyDeleteIrritable Owl Syndrome.
God bless.
Your owl names are a real hit, Victor!! Very funny!
DeleteI am a behind the scene person too....dont like being on the front row. Enjoyed the music from 'the good old days' too. I get the blues because I cant get these leg cramps under control. Never played tennis and now too old to even think about it. Happy weekend.
ReplyDeleteWe loved Tuscany too, Terri. It was everything that we hoped for! Have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteVictor's comment is hysterical!!! Sound of Music was my favorite movie when I was young, and still is to this day.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Terri, and have a great day at work!
50 degrees? It is about 5 degrees here this morning. I can't say I'm loving it. LOL Tuscany is on my bucket list. Have a great day even though it's a work day. I am off this weekend and catching up on laundry and other chores today.
ReplyDeleteYour #8 made me laugh out loud … I never thought about 'that'! I almost put down Tuscany as my 'flirt', yet we both cited the '60s for favorite music. I think Victor deserves the Blogoscar for best comment EVER!
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure we are soul sisters, Myra!
DeleteI very much prefer to be a wallflower, I love watching folks. Hope you have a nice day at work, my friend. smiles
ReplyDeleteI can hear that song in my head now! I can see the snowflakes in real life though.
ReplyDeleteI love your owl names!
I like your cute owl names...I'll try to remember them if I ever see an owl in the wild! lol We hiked and it was 60...and we thought it was chilly! heehee! We're spoiled...I know! Love living in Florida! Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteYes, your owl names were too cute! Have a great rest of your weekend!
ReplyDeleteLove your owl names. Perfect! I hope you had a good day today in spite of having to wake up so early. I usually do wake up around 6 am, but I am so glad I don't have to get up and go anywhere that early anymore. Sunday morning we have to leave by 8 am to get to Sunday School, and that is kind of tough for me now. When I worked I always had to be out the door by 7:30. I'm getting soft in my old age. I love The Sound of Music and My favorite things. Raindrops on roses is one of my favorite things...
ReplyDeleteLOL, Terri-Are you sure you didn't run numbers at one time? LOL Wonder how many "got that"?
ReplyDeleteWe have lots in common from 60s music and on.
Have a great night- xo Diana
