Weekend Recap on Monday...

I was so excited to have a 3-day weekend and here it is, gone.  I will say that it was relaxing.  I had a few things to accomplish but nothing pressing.  I got the laundry done on Friday. Our friend, Al, stopped by for a short visit, and we played Nickels Friday night.  Most folks are back from going north for the holidays now and we had two tables playing.  I won twice by myself and split one game!! My little bag of nickels is heavier than Joe's now!! LOL

Saturday we slept late. It really felt good to not have an alarm go off!  Our neighbor, Sharon, stopped by for a visit in the early afternoon.  She and her hubby are having a big party at the Clubhouse next month to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary.  She has hired the same DJ we had for New Year's Eve. It should be a fun party.  Jill and Murray are back from Canada and we knocked on the window (they were outside) to come over.  Sharon wanted to see them so they came over to visit too.   Sharon left and Jill told Murray to go home for 'the gift'.  They brought us a goody bag from Canada to thank us for taking Jill to the airport before Christmas (Murray had already gone north for his job).  My goodness!  We got Canadian chocolate, maple fudge, two coffee mugs, and a box of Tim Horton k-cups for our Keurig! I should have taken a picture!  We are blessed with wonderful neighbors!

Sunday (big surprise!!) Joe actually asked if we could go back to Redeemer Presbyterian (PCA) and try them out.  This is one of the ones we left last week because of the drums and other instruments on the stage.  I agreed, with a big smile!  Well, he actually enjoyed it and said he wants to go again next Sunday!  I'm excited because this church has a totally different feel from Covenant. More relaxed and more spiritual (I think).  The Pastor talked with us for a while before the service and is very nice. We enjoyed his sermon and the music was all good. :)

Sunday night we watched the Eagles play some amazing football and beat Chicago to move on in the playoffs! Amazing!!

Back to work this morning.  So far the week has an easy schedule until Saturday. Of course, that can change when people start calling for appointments.

How was your weekend?  Thanks for your visit!!

Peace & hugs!  God bless!!

  3. It sounds like you had a nice weekend all the way around! I am always in awe of what a great community you live in. I can't get excited about the playoffs, however...not with my Steelers out of it this year. Have a blessed week!

  6. Sounds like a fabulous weekend to me, Terri. And finding a church home where you actually feel at home is such a wonderful thing. Wish I could say that about ours, but as Danny has one more year there as head of the board of trustees, we can't think about looking for another one any time soon.
Hope you have a splendid week!

  9. Again I gotta say, you've the most thoughtful neighbors! Wasn't that an exciting game? I've friends on both sides of the aisle, but imagined you and Joe on the edge of your seats. Wow. Isn't that something about Joe wanting to return to Redeemer? We attended a funeral service Saturday at a large Southern Baptist church, and I noticed up at the front seating for what looks like a sizeable band/orchestra. Mind you, I've never been to a Baptist service in my life, but I was intrigued.

  10. Sounds like a great weekend. You are blessed with such good neighbors and friends! And I am thrilled that you are finally finding a new church home that you both seem to like. Praying it all works out. I really believe where we go to church can have such a powerful impact on our lives in so many different ways. Look at us! We want to sell our house and move so we can be closer to our new church home! Praying something works out soon in that department. Anyway, I am happy that you also like your job and I hope it meets your needs in every way. Take care of yourself and enjoy the wonderful life God has given you!

  12. Sounds like a really great weekend. I just LOVE your neighborhood! I'm so glad you gave that church another chance. I would hate for someone to assess our church based on one service.

We feel right at Hope Community Church, it just feels right. ;-)
