Our weekend wasn't much to write about. Rain, rain, and more rain!
Saturday we met our friends, Al and Theresa, for dinner at Cracker Barrel. Joe and I like CB for breakfast but have never really had good luck getting a good lunch or dinner there. We both wished we had ordered breakfast food. Lesson learned. We DID enjoy catching up with our friends, though. We hadn't been together for a couple of weeks.
Sunday I did laundry and we went over to the old neighborhood to feed our old neighbors' cats. They went away for an overnight and her sister (who also watches our cats) is out of town. We are happy to help. They lost their beautiful Murphy boy and only have Millie (diabetic) and Bonnie now. Millie lets us give her the insulin with no trouble. We will go over this morning too.
I will share a few photos...
Lucy continues to be mesmerized by the cat videos with squirrels and birds.
I put them on my laptop and she will sit for several minutes watching.
When not watching the videos, she loves to be with Joe!
The Mas Verde newsletter came out for July and we got our
picture in it this month. How about that?! Can you find us?
Today, July 2nd, is my BFF Elaine's birthday! Happy birthday, Elaine!! She is now older than me and will be for six months!! We have been friends for over 50 years. So blessed!!
Wishing you many blessings in our new month of July! The year is flying by. Thanks for your visit today! Peace & hugs.

I can't imagine you've not had good luck with Cracker Barrel. I really like their food, especially the chicken and dumplings and the blackened catfish. Glad Joe is doing better, but sorry to hear about the shoulder. I'm thinking I've done something to mine, as well. Something "popped" in there back during the winter, but it's been achy more and more. Sigh...it's always something, isn't it? This getting older stuff is not for the faint-hearted. 50 years of friendship. Now that is really something to celebrate! Have a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteSo glad Joe is better. We enjoy the Cracker Barrel too, especially the breakfast, but we also enjoy their other food as well. Sorry your experience was that good. Miss Lucy is so pretty and it is funny that she enjoys the video. Hope your new week is a good one.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear your husband and you are well. Keep smiling. Wishing you well.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
I love the picture of your kitty watching videos. And I agree, most of the time, I get breakfast at Cracker Barrel.
ReplyDeleteLOLOL---I thought Lucy was a lion cub, lolol...geesh. (hope you got a good laugh out of that one)
ReplyDeleteWish it would rain here, we are baking here in western NY. sigh
I love rainy days like that when the storm stops and everything is peaceful and fresh.
ReplyDeleteCB use to have a great turkey dinner, but not so great last time... always enjoyed them when "commuting" back and forth to Florida...pleasant atmosphere anyway..
ReplyDeleteWe went to CB on our last vacation. We don't have any near us so it was a treat. I got chicken n dumplings. It was yummy. We all did notice that we all had small plates for our meals so I guess they have cut their portion sizes by using smaller plates.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Joe and I love Cracker Barrel. We go there as often as we can. I usually get their pork chop for dinner and Joe gets the Sunday Chicken platter if we are there on a Sunday. I have never had a problem with their food at any of their meals. Their breakfast is good too. Enjoy your rain. I wish we had some. My garden is burned to a crisp in this heat. And there's no end in sight.
ReplyDeleteI am with you regarding CB's food. It is tooooo heavy with fat. It is supposed to be country cooking but there is always too much butter etc. They do have good pancakes. If you want real hash browns instead of the casserole, you have to make a special request. It's best just to leave that place as a general store in our minds and buy stuff on clearance - - - or get the candy from our childhood - - - like Mallo Cups, etc.
ReplyDeleteGlad that hematoma is dissolving!!!!
ReplyDeleteHAHA - my BFF growing up - she's 21 days older than me & it was the biggest deal :) haha
Hi Florida Friend!
ReplyDeleteI am so happy to hear that your hubby's arm is healing and I hope it is 100% soon.
50 years of friendship means a lot. That's so wonderful.
Yes, I spy with my little eye … there's Terri and Joe enjoying the pot luck!
ReplyDeleteWe've only been to CB for supper once and it was so awful (wrong food, poor service) Tom complained to the manager.
It looks like Lucy's a real daddy's girl! Cute!
I know, the rain has been a bit much. Today so far it has bypassed us. I can hear it rumbling in the distance, however. I love to go to Cracker Barrel more for the atmosphere/shopping than the food. I'm not a huge fan of their food either, except I love the cornbread. Ha ha! (I make my own biscuits, so I usually don't eat theirs) Yes, I see your picture...so cute. Hope Joe feels better soon. (arm? shoulder?) I think I missed that one. I always enjoy hearing what you've been doing. It's like a nice phone call or letter from a friend, which you are. Thank you for keeping in touch. It's always a pleasure.
ReplyDeleteI am with you in Cracker Barrel!
ReplyDeleteHope Joe is all fixed up soon, and that you have a festive Fourth of July.
It has been HOT and Humid here in PA.
I am not loving it.
I'd trade it for a blizzard any day! : )
Love me some chicken livers at Cracker Barrel! Yes, I'm weird. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th, Terri!
I see you! Third down on the right!
ReplyDeleteSo glad Joe is seeing some improvement. Maybe some physical therapy will help that rotator cuff and surgery won't be necessary.
I see you! Another moment of fame.
ReplyDeleteYou are good friends to take care of that cat and give it insulin.
It is great to hear of the progress in Joe's arm. Continued prayers for him. Wish you could send some rain my way...my lawn is burning up from the excessive heat and no rain. Have a great week sweet Terri. Hugs and blessings
ReplyDeleteI did see you! :) I hope Joe's arm heals completely...again, I missed something. Oh my, I do hate being so busy that I miss out on so much. Lucy is a beautiful cat. Quiet weekend for you, but those are often nice too.
