It's the Wednesday Hodgepodge!!

Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 359

Joyce has giving us her Hodgepodge of questions and we just answer on our blogs and link back to her and all the other Hodgepodgers!!  Join in HERE!!

       1. I feel most energized when I have something FUN to do during the day.

2. Where were you ten years ago?
Right here in Lakeland, married to Joe and loving my job at Polk Museum of Art.

3. July 17th is World Emoji Day. Do you use emojis?
👀 Yes.  Which one's your favorite?  😁 Probably the smiley face.  Your most used?  💗 The heart.

4. What song would you put on a wedding DO NOT PLAY list?
Oh gosh, I have no idea.  I’m not that into music and I think it would all depend on the bride and groom to choose or not choose. Each couple would be different.  I wouldn’t have heavy metal, but someone else might (for instance).

5. What deserves less of your attention?
Probably Facebook or the TV.  More of your attention?  My house!  LOL

6.  Insert your own random thought here.
Y’all know that Joe and I watch way too much TV, but when he is working on his computer (or napping) I gravitate toward the Food Network rather than HGTV these days.  (I’ve seen ALL the Fixer Upper episodes, I think.) I am not obsessed with Chopped, but I really love watching Chopped.  Do any of you watch it?  I really get caught up in the baskets and the weird things in the baskets and the thought process that goes into using all those weird things in the baskets. Good grief!! LOL

Thanks to Joyce for this week's Hodgepodge!!

Thanks for your visit!!  Peace & hugs!

  1. I like Chopped as well and it amazes me what they come up with when given such bizarre ingredients,

  2. I watch HGTV all the time, but somehow have missed Chopped. Since I dont like to cook, maybe I have avoided the Food Network! Hope you have a good Wednesday my friend.

  3. I love Chopped but I just don't see a lot of TV these days. I don't enjoy watching kids cook though. I don't see the appeal? I'd love to try a Chopped basket. Could be a fun party idea. Have a great day!

  4. We have the same attention issues, both the more and the less! I don't watch that much TV, but when I do it's usually a decorating show or something about history. Right now I'm liking Expedition Unkown. I just discovered it.

    1. We have watched ALL the Expedition Unknown episodes, I think. That guy is crazy!! I won't say he is super brave to do what he does because I know there are other people involved who make sure he won't be hurt, but it still keeps me on edge watching!

  5. I enjoy Chopped also. My fave Food Network shows are the baking competition shows.
    Have a great day!

  6. Nope on Chopped...to high energy for me, LOLOL. I like the one with Nancy/ Farmhouse something---she is from upstate New York, over where we use to live.

Have a beautiful day, friend. smiles

  7. When my grands are here we watch the Food Network. They LOVE Chopped as well as Guy's Grocery Game. I have to admit at least they learn something by watching these shows.

  8. I love Chip & Joanna on Fixer Up, also. I have read both the biographies they have written. I like that they are Christians. They did not seem to seek fame but it "happened" to them. They are part or a lot of what is credited to helping change the image of Waco. Remember the deadly fire in 1993 of the David Koresh cult?
We like Texas Flip & Move. The interaction between the characters can be fun. However we have gotten to the point if we have a few recorded and don't have time to watch them all, we will fast forward through many places.
I have favorites on HGTV, DIY, Food Network, and Cooking Channel. Bill and I really like "Beat Bobby Flay".

  9. My daughter is a huge Chopped fan, so before she got married (and moved out), I would watch it with her. We don't have Dish anymore, so I haven't watched the Food Network in a couple years.

    I guess Tammy Wynette's D-I-V-O-R-C-E wouldn't be a good song for a wedding!

    Have a great day!

  10. We haven't watched Chopped in a while, but we really do like the program. Danny, being the chef, can't get over what those folks can do with those mystery baskets!
    Blessings, Terri!

  11. I haven't watched any of the food network. I guess I am not into cooking that much, esp. in the summertime. And yes, the fixer upper shows aren't really exciting right now either...in between seasons, and I've seen all the reruns too many times. I'm into reading in my spare time, and trying to stay away from negative stuff on facebook. Thinking about blocking negative people, but then I wonder if that is a good thing to do...I just try to avoid the vitriol and ugliness no matter which side it comes from. Trying to focus more on the beauty of God's world and His inspirational things...

  12. I used to love HGTV but we don't watch day time tv any more. We both had rather be on our computers or iPADS. I do wish sometimes there was something as good as Downton Abbey on or even Leave it to Beaver! heehee! Enjoy your afternoon! Hugs!

  13. I like watching the food programs on TV; and learning how to prepare healthy fresh meals; especially when waiting for the pizza delivery man.

    God bless.

  14. Hey Terri,
It's good to visit you today, after my long hiatus in blogland. I don't really like watching cooking shows, but then I don't especially enjoy cooking, these days either :(

Hope you and Joe are well. Enjoy the rest of your week!

  15. Funny on the TV watching. In the evenings, if we're not taking a walk, I'll hunt for yet another mystery on either Acorn or Netflix. I've never seen 'Chopped.' We don't have cable, so we get what we can on Roku, which is plenty, due to the Acorn and Netflix subscriptions and also to PBS, although I'm annoyed with them for putting their reruns of Endeavour up for such a short time before slapping a badge on them that requires a subscription. Oh well, I guess there are bigger problems in the world. LOL

  16. I like Food network too, and I do enjoy Chopped!

  17. I'm still gravitating over to HGTV when I need noise and something on the screen, even if I'm not sitting there watching it. Can't say I like the food contest shows on the Food Network. I wish they had more cooking (instructional) shows like they used to. The ones on now are not at a time of day when I usually have the TV on.

  18. Correction (ahem!) The ones on now are NOT at a time of day when I usually have the TV on.

  19. The first song I thought of was The Chicken Dance. Haha...but it is funny! :-)

  20. Hi Terri, I'm a big fan of the food network even though I don't cook much; my sweetie LOVES to cook, so I let him. I'm sad that Hodgepodge is going on break, just when I am joining again...sad. Let me know if you participate in any other blog surveys like this. Cheers!
