A Nostalgic Hodgepodge...

Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 358

Our hostess, Joyce, has given us this week’s Hodgepodge of questions to answer!  We link back to her blog and join all the other Hodgepodgers!  Join in HERE!

1. What's something in your house you'd like to get rid of but can't? We got rid of a whole bunch of things when we moved a year and a half ago. I still need to get rid of work clothes that I know I won’t wear again.  Just need to do it!

2. When is the last time you experienced a sense of nostalgia?
When my sister-in-law, nephew, niece and her hubby were here last month. Elaborate. We went to the beach for a long weekend with them and that is something we did nearly every year when my brother was still living.  We stayed at a different place but went to a favorite restaurant that we always enjoyedWe talked about it and love having those memories! He has been gone almost 15 years (this August).

3. You're only allowed three apps on your smartphone or tablet...which three do you keep?
Waze. Google Photos. Messages.

4. July 11th is National Blueberry Muffin Day. Who knew? Do you like blueberry muffins?
Yes, I do!  If you were going to have a muffin would blueberry be your choice?  Yes, unless there was cinnamon.  What's the last thing you baked?  A chocolate cake with a chocolate ganache. It was yummy if I do say so.

5. What's the biggest way you've changed since you were a child?
Besides being taller?  Maturity brings lots of changes. I’m old now!  In what way are you still the same?  I can still be contrary… Contrary Terri.  HA!

6. Insert your own random thought here.
We are watching Season One of ‘Goliath’ again because Season Two is out and we wanted to catch up before watching the new season.  It has been awhile since we watched it the first time. The language is terrible but other than that, it is very well done. It keeps us riled up even though we know how this season ends. I think Billy Bob Thornton is a really great actor.  He is.

Thanks for your visit!! Peace & hugs.

  1. Nostalgia isn't what it used to be. In the olden days nostalgia was when you looked back to good times, perhaps good holidays at the beach, parties with friends and families and so on. You looked back in black and white, or in sepia, to them old days of nostalgia.

Today, nostalgia is looking back at the last model of cell phone you had, or your status last week on Facebook, or the number of friends and followers you have on social media.

Nostalgia is not what it used to be. Now I have to wait at least two minutes before the microwave oven has my meal ready. PING ... must go!

    God bless.

  3. I enjoyed your answers today. It's scary how the years fly by and then kind of sucker punch you in a nostalgic moment when you're feeling like "it was just yesterday."
Have a blessed and enjoyable day!

  5. Bad language is such a turn off form. I’m sorry that you are finding the show good however the language.

    1. It is easier to ignore the F bombs as long as they aren't taking the Lord's name in vain. The show would be just as good without F-ing everything. I agree with you there!

  6. Billy Bob is one of my faves, too. We're quite the fans of Goliath and finished watching last night. Quite a story-line.

We had a nostolgic time this past weekend while at a restaurant, too. Sitting on the patio overlooking the Lk Norman with Jay and Kay, we started reliving our years at the Lake back home. Trying to waterski, boats we had or wished we had or hadn't owned, swimming experiences...fun to remember the good times. have a great week, Terri.

  7. Terri, Terri quite contrary? (Made me giggle!) I suspect your brother would be tickled knowing his loved ones are continuing the tradition and not letting his memory be forgotten. Have a super day … hugs!

  8. Ah . . . nostalgic moments. Do love it when Facebook pops our memories up. When I see Virginia as a baby, can't help but feel nostalgic. They grow too fast!
    Blessings, Terri!

  9. Teri, that chocolate cake sounds fabulous. Yummy! Now I've never thought of you as Miss Contrary! And although I've grown taller since childhood like you, I found out at the doctor's office that I am now getting shorter. Still tall though. Those nostalgic moments are special. I'm glad you enjoyed yours at the beach. Wish Dallas had a beach.

  12. The time with your family last month sounded really special. It's so fun to reminisce with family we haven't seen in a while. I'll have to look up Wayz to learn what it is. Never heard of it. Most of my apps I could live without, of course, but the Daily Prayer makes it so easy to use the Book of Common Prayer without having to flip pages back and forth. I also subscribe to USCCB that comes into my Inbox every morning. 💕

  13. We're kind of out of the loop when it comes to TV viewing, but we'll have to look for that one. He is a good actor. So glad you've had some lovely family time recently. Enjoy your day!

  14. Hi there,
I have not seen Goliath so I'm not familiar with it. I do agree that Mr. Thornton is a fine actor. I love your answer to #2. I love being nostalgic with freinds and family over a meal. Speaking of food, I have no idea what "ganache" is.
I hope you and Joe are well and the pain is abating. Thanks for your visits.
