Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 340
A big thank you to our hostess, Joyce, for this week’s Hodgepodge! She gives us the questions, we answer and then link up with other Hodgepodgers HERE.
1. February can be a little bit tricky given the weather and the winter and the whatnot. I read a list (here) of things you can do to make your February brighter which included-start planning your next trip, take more baths, make your own chocolate covered strawberries, and exercise in preparation for swimsuit season. Anything on the list you might try? Not a one! LOL. Which suggestion on the list appeals to you most? Chocolate covered strawberries. Tell us something not on the list that helps make your February brighter. My Februarys are always bright because I am blessed to live in Florida where we have sunshine, blue skies, and palm trees every day.
2. Tell us about something you've seen or done recently that you'd say was 'super'? We had a super time with neighbors over at Mazzaro’s Italian Market on Monday of this week. We had a super time watching the Eagles in the Super Bowl!!
3. The best thing you ate in a 'bowl' last week? Taco salad with Super Bowl taco leftovers. Yum!
4. Something you're 'cheering' for right now? We are still cheering for the Eagles for their big win. I am also cheering confirmation of family visiting in June! There is some fun going to happen when we are all together!
5. The Winter Olympics begin Friday, February 9th in Pyeong Chang, South Korea. On a scale of 1-10 (with 10 being all in and 1 being no interest whatsoever), how interested are you in the games? I really enjoy the Olympics and plan to watch as much as I can. Some events don’t interest me, but I look forward to getting to see some of it this year since I’m not working! I guess I’ll go with #8. Which event do you most want to see (you'll find a list here). I love the figure skating, but also the ski jumping and the sledding events.
6. Insert your own random thought here. Polk County has a Greek Orthodox Church over in Winter Haven. They have a Greek Festival every year in February and Joe and I are planning to go this year (first time)! I am really looking forward to it and my boss from the Museum is Greek. She and her mom and her sister are planning to go, and we are going to try to ‘hook up’ over there for some fun and for some really good food!

We have a busy week this week, with something going on every day. It’s all good. I got cortisone shots in my knees yesterday so am looking forward to them feeling better in a day or so.
Thanks for your visit!! Peace & hugs.

Mmmmm, chocolate covered strawberries, taco salad, you made me hungry just reading this morning. We have a Greek church which has a yearly festival too. Have never been, but always wanted to, so you will have to share your experience. Have a nice 'Hump Day'!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your answers....no nice weather in western NY, all snow, lots of it, still coming down.
ReplyDeleteHave a beautiful week, Terri. smiles
Mmm chocolate covered strawberries.
ReplyDeleteMmmm taco salad. So much less messier than a taco with all the same fillings. Yum!
Have a great day!
Skating and skiing are my favorite sports in the Winter Olympics as well Terri We are having warmer temps here so that is a positive in my book.
ReplyDeleteWish I were in warmer weather. It is cold here in the UK.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Hope you enjoy the Greek festival, sounds like a lot of fun!!
ReplyDeleteI do hope those shots help your knees feel better. I love Greek food-sounds like my kind of festival : )
ReplyDeleteMy favorite kind of food is Greek Food. Hope you enjoy the Greek Fest. Go with an empty tummy!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy that sunshine for me...it's a nasty day here. School is cancelled again. Those taco salads sound yummy! I might have to put that on the menu later in the week. Enjoy the rest of the week!
ReplyDeleteTotally agree with you on rejoicing that the Phillies won the Super Bowl and in looking forward to the Olympics!
ReplyDeleteI do hope you are feeling better and can kick up your heels now that your knees are feeling better!! But don't kick too high! Sounds like a lot of good stuff going in your lives. We are blessed to live in Florida in February, aren't we? And all year, except maybe July, August...but as long as the AC works we are good!! Have a blessed week.
ReplyDeleteGreat news all around! So glad you're getting some needed relief from the cortisone shots, Terri.
ReplyDeleteThe denim header and patch pockets are adorable!
There is a Greek Orthodox Church in Dallas that holds an annual festival in September which we have enjoyed many times. We love Greek food. I'm glad to see you are feeling better. Your bowl of leftover taco food sounds good.
ReplyDeleteI sure hope those cortisone shots give you relief, Terri. It matters so much who gives the injection, doesn't it, as far as a painful or not painful injection. Hope yours was good. The Greek Orthodox festival sounds great. Can I go too? Just this morning I was reading and then listening to some Orthodox prayers online. We have one Orthodox Church in our area, a Russian Orthodox about a half hour from us. I think they put on a cabbage roll supper every fall. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteI love chocolate covered strawberries!
ReplyDeleteAlso I will be watching the Olympics as well.
I hope the shot works too. I had them for awhile myself.
Love, sandie
Is Tarpon Springs in Polk County? We visited there many years ago and picked up on the Greek flavor there. It was neat.
ReplyDeleteGreetings from the frozen tundra! I remember the first time my Patriots won the Super Bowl. So, relish the victory and enjoy it to the fullest. Your Eagles deserved the win and they seem to be a class act, so I'm okay. Maybe we'll have a rematch next year.
ReplyDeleteI would love to come to Florida to take in a Spring Training game but given current circumstances, not very likely. Thanks anyway.
As always, thanks fro visiting my blog page and for leaving a comment.
