Hodgepodge Wednesday!!

Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 336

Joyce gives us the weekly Hodgepodge of questions, we answer on our blogs and then link-up at On This Side of the Pond.  Thank you, Joyce!!  Join the fun HERE!!

1. January is National Mentoring Month. Have you ever had a mentor? Been a mentor? How would you rate the experience?  I've never had an 'assigned' mentor, but I looked up to a co-worker at the Museum and highly valued her opinions.  Her name was Judy Barger and she, unfortunately, died of brain cancer just a few months after her retirement.  Her courage and great faith in Jesus during chemo was also an inspiration.  I like to think that I mentored a few employees now and then in my role as the human resources manager.

2. What current trend makes no sense to you?  That Oprah could be POTUS.

3. I saw a cartoon on Facebook highlighting a few 'weird' things that make you happy as an adult. The list included-writing with a nice pen, having plans canceled, freshly cleaned sheets, eating the corner brownie, cleaning the dryer lint screen, and sipping coffee in that brief time before anyone else wakes up. (Credit for the cartoon goes here) Of the 'weird' things listed which one makes you happiest?  Sipping coffee, I guess.  What is one more 'weird' thing you'd add to the list?  How about not finding a hairball throw-up on the rug.

4. What's the last good thing you ate?  Shrimp for dinner last night!! Yum!

5. Describe life in your 20's in one sentence.  I was naive and miserable.

6. Insert your own random thought here.  Just counting my blessings.

Happy Wednesday! Thanks for your visit!  Wishing you peace & hugs!

  1. Oprah seems unlikely to me too. But, hey, how many people said that about Trump a couple of years ago?

  2. I agree on the Oprah issue, no way. Just saying...but weirder things have happened. Enjoyed your answers, smiles

  3. I enjoy a cup of green tea in the morning before everyone gets up. So peaceful and quiet.
    Have a great day!

  4. Love my coffee (sipping it now!), yes, have been a mentor to several young people, and I think the idea of Oprah is absurd.
    Enjoy your day, Terri!
    Blessings!

  5. Oprah running for POTUS is scary because we're seeing more odd things all the time.

As for your comment about your 20s, it sounds like you've definitely "lived and learned" (benefitted) from that tough season of your life. I pray the same for myself and my family.

  8. We grilled shrimp for dinner last night and it was also yummy! I think I'm going to make shrimp tacos with the leftovers tonite. Hoping the Oprah thing is a fad. I mean probably no stranger to some people than Trump who was also something of a celebrity turned politician. She's a successful businesswoman but way too liberal for me which is why I wouldnt' want to see her elected.

I am visiting from the Hodgepodge. I had to chuckle about the hairball. ;-)

  14. What Stacy just said! :) Your 'hairball' comment made me chuckle, Terri.

I was planning to play along ... even began an outline while at work (shhhh!) but this bug-that-refuses-to-leave, has me pooped.

  15. Totally agree with your thinking about Oprah :( Heaven forbid!
Not finding throw up on the rug is always a good thing:)
In answer to your question about us being in St. Simon's, we don't have plans to go anytime soon. (We're saving our money for an upcoming trip to Kentucky) Hopefully, we'll get to meet one of these days!

  16. I'm sure with 3 cats the lack of a hairball would be weird lol. One thing I do not miss. I'm sorry your 20s were rough but if they'd been different you might not be where you are now so I guess you wouldn't change things :)
