Thankful Thursday.....

I am linking up with Rebecca Jo at Knit By God's Hand for her Thankful Thursday link-up!  You can join in HERE!!

I've had a full week of things to be thankful for!

Friday made me thankful for new friends and our son and daughter-in-law.  We had such a good time with them at the Lakeridge Wine Festival, out to lunch and at the Hall of Presidents.

Saturday was Veterans Day, making me thankful for all the men and women who have served our country and especially my Joe!  He got a free Bang Bang Shrimp appetizer at Bone Fish Grill as a thank you!

Sunday we missed our kids but I was thankful to have a washer and dryer so I could do our laundry and relax between loads.

Monday took me to 'coffee' at the Clubhouse with 40 women from Mas Verde.  It is an every Monday morning event and I will probably attend most Mondays.  Thankful for meeting more of our neighbors!

Tuesday was haircut day for Joe and me.  We have gone to the same barber for years and years. Before I started going there, Joe went there to our current barber's dad.  Our Tristan got his first haircut there when he was two years old and he is 21 now.  Thankful for friends and good barbers!

Check out this little video featuring our barber (and friend) Teena, and her shop Reflections of Excellence!  I've tried six ways to get Blogger to post the video.  The link is the best I can do. We did get dinner out scheduled the first week of December! Too much time goes by between our social times so we are looking forward to an evening with Teena and her hubby.

Wednesday found us down at the ranch and I was thankful to commune with the horses, the dogs (all three!) and the goats.  I was really excited when four of the horses came to see me!  They were all out in the pasture but I walked down to the fence and gave a whistle.  Two of them trotted over, followed shortly by two more.  I talked to them and scratched their heads for a good half hour.  I was so pleased that they came to see me!  No photos but I was so happy to have my country time yesterday!

Today is facial day for which I am always thankful!  I enjoy the facial and I also enjoy the time with my friend Dawn. Blessed!  We also need to schedule some social time with her and her hubby.

I am thankful for your visit! Peace hugs!

  1. You do have a busy week with all the fun you are having! Love that you are getting to know your neighbors and enjoying that time of fun and fellowship. I especially love that you get to go to the ranch each week and enjoy the time with the critters there. That sounds very peaceful and enjoyable. A facial??? Wow!! No wonder you always are "glowing"!! I've never had one! I imagine it would be very relaxing. Does it remove wrinkles? I'm getting too many of those these days. LOL. How wonderful to have that time to just totally relax. Have a peaceful and beautiful day.

I need to be more thankful for my washer & dryer & put it to work more often. My pile is getting out of control!

  6. I fast-forwarded to Teena's vignette ... sure love her haircut AND her cute accent! That's neat about her dad being the first to cut Tristan's hair.

  8. I enjoyed the video. "There are two kinds of hair. The parted and the departed!" I had to share that with Alan. So funny! I agree. Barbering is a kind of art. Loved the video.
