Friday Foto Friends.....

Linking up with Deb at Breathing in Grace for her Friday Foto Friends Link-up,  Join in HERE!

I don't have any new pictures for today because we have been busy with the 'kids' and I just haven't taken photos yet.  Since it is Veterans' Day (celebration day) I decided to find some photos of Veterans who are near and dear to my heart.....

My sweet Joe (before I knew him) getting an award from General Wooten.

Below is from the 'hometown' newspaper. They used to print things like this.

Joe and his two brothers, all Veterans.
Lou and Nick were Marines. Nick went to Viet Nam.
Joe was in the Army and he tells people he was too young for Korea and too old for Nam.
Nick's son, Julian, is in the Marine Corp right now.

As 'they' say, freedom is not free.  God bless all who served our country!

Thanks for your visit today!  Peace & hugs!!

  1. Thank you for your service, Joe, Lou, Nick and Julian (oorah Semper Fi!). Joe was a nice looking young man, Terri (and still is, I might add, smiles). Thank for sharing. I hope you have a beautiful day.

  2. So wonderful!! Thank your hubby Joe for his service, and his brothers too. What a wonderful family...all serving our country so that we could enjoy these freedoms. Praying we never lose our freedoms.
Have a blessed and glorious Veteran's Day weekend.

  3. I love the picture of Joe and yes, our hometown paper always printed articles about our local servicemen when they got a new rank or award. I was just thinking about the veterans in our family....from my ancestor who fought at the Battle of Cowpens in the Revolutionary war to my young cousin, Blake, who served recently. Thankful for all our servicemen and women.

  5. Thank you, Joe and family for your service. It's never easy. My Joe was in the Marine Corp. His father was a Marine in Viet Nam. My father was a Marine during the Korean War though he never went to Korea. Many veterans in my family and I appreciate them all. The pictures you showed are treasures for sure.
