Weekend Recap on Monday....

The weekends seem to go faster and faster.  We did get a whole bunch done, though!  It actually feels good to be sitting down with the evening ahead and projects mostly behind us.

First I want to revisit my Friday.  My friend and co-worker, Gregory, belongs to the First United Methodist Church here in Lakeland. He is very involved in the church, helping with the sound for their contemporary service, and contributing his artwork and expertise in so many areas.  (Gregory's dad is a retired minister.)  The church is hosting an exhibit of photographs by our homeless population.  Gregory reminded a few of us that the opening was Friday afternoon and we could vote for our favorite photo, so we walked over from the Museum (just a block away). I did not take photos inside, but here is the information on the church's website.

On my way home Friday, I took another photo of  Lake Hunter, which I pass every day, twice a day.

 Saturday morning started around 8:30 and my purpose for the day was to empty the last three moving boxes that were living in the "den". They were full of sewing and crafting supplies and I really had no idea where I was going to find room for everything. I wanted my sewing things to be together in the 2nd guest room and the jewelry and craft supplies to live in the "den" (I'm calling it the work room).  Joe has half of the den for his office and the other half (which also now has the refrigerator in it) is my side.  But, I got it done. There is still organizing to do and some shuffling to do, but the boxes are empty and our 2nd guest room is ready for company.

 I still need to buy a lamp for the dresser, but I used those tins, which contain buttons, zippers, and various other sewing things, as decorating items. I think they add some interest and one way or the other, there is no other place for them, so it works for me!  LOL

I'll be looking for a very small table to go beside this bed. Possibly at Kirkland's. It can't be more than eight inches wide and six would be better.  I'll let you know what I find.

In the den, Vinny has claimed the cat tree as his own.  The window looks out at the carport. Sometimes he watches whatever goes by but usually he is sleeping in this position.

I got the laundry done on Sunday.  I made some chicken tortellini soup for our dinner, with biscuits and a salad. It hit the spot.

Now, on to one of our busiest weeks and weekends at the Museum.  Mayfaire by-the-Lake is this coming weekend.  It will be a very long two weeks, with no time off until the 20th of May.  Next year, I'll be able to enjoy Mayfaire as a visitor!!  Hooray!
