It's a Cinco de Mayo Kind of Hodgepodge....

A big thanks to our hostess, Joyce, for this week's Q & A Hodgepodge!  Join us Hodgepodgers HERE!

Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 306

1. Can you tell I'm embracing a Cinco de Mayo theme here this week? Do you like Mexican food? What's your favorite dish? How about on the side-black beans, pinto beans, refried beans, rice? What about heat-mild, medium, hot? Will you celebrate with Mexican food and drink on May 5th aka Cinco de Mayo?

I love Mexican food.  My favorite dish is most anything on the menu! Ha! I love black beans pinto beans refried beans and rice. Make it HOT please!  We will probably not have Mexican on May 5th, but we did have it last weekend.

2. Ever been to Mexico? For work or holiday? Love it or no? If you haven't been is this a place you'd like to visit? Can you speak Spanish?

I've never been to Mexico but I would love to see some of the Mayan ruins.  I know a few Spanish words but not enough to say I speak Spanish

3. What's one thing you may accomplish this month?

I MAY finally get the last two rooms in our new house organized during May.

4. If you were mayor of your village, city, or town, what's one thing you'd like to see changed, done away with, revamped, or accomplished? Is serving in public office something you've ever seriously considered?

There is not a thing I would change in Lakeland. We have a great Mayor, and great City Manager and some pretty savvy City Commissioners. I would NEVER NEVER NEVER run for any public office. NEVER.

5. What's something that may be popular, but that you just don't get?

Twitter.

6. Can't let this week slip by without mentioning Thursday May 4th is Star Wars Day. As in 'May the 4th be with you' ahem. Are you a fan of the Star Wars series? Exactly how much of a fan are you? On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being 'I've seen every film, own the action figures, might have dressed as Darth Vader for Halloween one year', and 1 being, 'what's a Vader?' -where do you land?

I saw the first three movies when they first came out.  It was a fun time, but I did not go Star Wars crazy. I haven't seen any of the newer movies, so I guess that puts me at around a 2 or 3 on your scale of 1-10.

7. Scroll back through your blog posts and in three sentences or less tell us the general theme of your fourth blog post. Does it still ring true today? Is it a topic you re-visit on your blog from time to time?

My first blog post was on Yahoo360 back in 2007. I moved to Multiply when Yahoo360 was canceled. When Multiply was yanked from us, I moved to Blogger in August 2012. My fourth post was about taking grandson, Tristan, to Clearwater Marina.  I revisit times with our grandson frequently!!  :)

8. Insert your own random thought here.

I had a good day off yesterday!  Our friends arrived at the Museum at 11:00.  It was nearly a re-run of our day last Tuesday with Cheryl and Pat. The only difference being that we had never met Cheryl & Pat before and I grew up with Peggy back in my hometown.  We sure shared some fun memories and kept Joe and Kirk shaking their heads at some of the stories! Such fun.  Peggy is the younger sister of my BFF Elaine.  She was between my brother Randy and sister Patti but spent lots of time at our house playing with my little sisters.

We were at Hollis Gardens.

Happy Wednesday everyone!  Thanks for your visit!  Peace & hugs!

  3. I detest Mexican food. No Taco Bell for me. I forgot about Star Wars Day. I saw it for the first time last year all over facebook. Glad you had such a nice time with your friends. Old friends are always the best.

  4. I do not get Twitter either...who cares to keep up with someone's every thought. I have enough trouble keeping up with my own thoughts.

  5. I do like Mexican food, but cant take it too hot. I like the taste of hot peppers, but they dont like me! I have been on Twitter, then off, and back on, and the only reason is to see what my grandchildren are up to! Happy you got to visit with old friends. Hugs

  6. Love a fun outing with friends! I like spicy too, but it seems most people opted for mild in the HP today. We finally got our mud room sorted today. We've been keeping boots, tennis shoes, etc in the garage while we figured out what to do with the pictures we were storing in the mud room. I was motivated to get it in gear after reading about checking your shoes for snakes. Yikes! The shoes and boots are all inside now : )

  9. You know what comes after May, right? ;) Twitter is confusing to me. I'm trying but I either just don't get it or I'm overthinking it. It's supposed to be a good way to promote the Etsy shop but I may be doing more damage than good. LOL What a fun time with friends you've been having! A couple friends and I have been getting together once a week for the last several months and I'm loving my time with them!

  11. Now I'm craving me some Mexican food! Yes, the hotter the better.

I had a Twitter account once ... for about 3 hours. LOL.
'Never have seen a single Star Wars film, but it's sort of fun to witness the hoopla.

  12. Love that old pic. What fun to relive those memories. I bet there was plenty of laughter there for you to have those guys shaking their heads. I do have a Twitter account, but never have posted anything. I don't get it either. But I definitely get Mexican food!

  13. You and my son would get along so well. He loves hot and spicy foods. We do too, but not to the degree that he does. That is a lovely picture.
