I have missed reading your posts this weekend and will catch up on all the Mother's Day tributes soon! My weekend, as you know, was spent at work.
I had another surprise visit from Hattie & Murph. They brought me another gift. Have you heard of Garden Angels? They have been making them and showed me photos of ones they made when they stopped in on Friday. They went out to some thrift stores and found what they needed to make one for me while they were here. What a blessing! Joe and I are taking them to dinner on Tuesday night.
I found this one on Pinterest....
The next photos are ones I took out and about at Mayfaire. You can always click on my photos to make them larger if you want.
Joe, finishing his pizza in the food court. Food this year was a Food Truck Rally. We had some very good food. Chicken, crab cakes, fries, mac n' cheese, calzones and pizza. We enjoyed it both days!
I really loved this painting. It was only $4,700.00! A little out of our budget range!
Scott Causey is one of my favorites! He makes these amazing ceramic sculptures. His work is also in the mid-high thousands, but I sure did love the swan and cygnets.
The Children's Art tent is always fun for the kids, with lots of art projects.
Joe and I both had a small cherry-flavored Gelati Joe's ice.
I really loved the way this artist works in wood. Got up close to check his prices. Also way out of our budget range at several thousand dollars. (Added note this morning.... our newspaper did an article on this artist. Very interesting how he started working in wood after an injury. He has sold to some celebrities.... http://www.theledger.com/news/20170514/mayfaire-by-the-lake-art-festival-draws-out-of-state-artists-to-lakeland)
This is the stage where locals perform all weekend. It is the last picture I took, right after the last performance. I think the balloons made into palm trees with a swan nesting in the fronds were really great!
So, that was my weekend. In spite of all the photos I took, I really got some work done at the office. I did get home last night and got a couple of loads of laundry done. We have a busy week ahead!!
For my prayer partners who offered prayers for my friend Teena, she is doing great and will probably get to go home today! Thank you for including her in your prayers!!
Thanks for your visit!! Peace & hugs!

The Garden Angel is a cute idea. I bet colored glass would look pretty when they are lit up.
ReplyDeleteMayfaire always looks fun. I enjoy seeing your pics. I love both booths with the sculptures.
Have a great day!
I love art festivals....I am amazed at the talent people are gifted with!! And that angel is too cute. Hope you rest up today from you busy weekend.
ReplyDeleteI love that angel, what a nifty idea...ugh, Terri...I just don't know how y'all do it living down there in the land of flip flops and dealing with the humidity, lol.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the update on Teena!
ReplyDeleteAt first glance, I wanted to get one of those wooden musical pieces for Tom's music room ... but went no further after what you said about his prices. Honestly, I'm more drawn to the Garden Angel. Depending on our schedule, I may try and make one for our DIL - the original green thumb - while we're in Alabama.
It's so crazy what some art pieces can sell for.
ReplyDeleteThat garden angel is ADORABLE!!!!
What a fun weekend you had. You always have the best visitors!
The wood art is my favorite. The garden angel is a clever idea and I think I have the vases for it. Food trucks are very popular at our church events. Glad your weekend was so good and now the Mayfair is behind you.
ReplyDeleteAmazing! I know it was a wonderful weekend and I loved seeing your pictures. Thank you. Also happy to hear your friend is doing well. Have a nice afternoon, and good week ahead.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like so much fun! And the weather looks like it helped : ) Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThat garden angel took my eye! I am going to the Goodwill and see if I can make one of those. Thank you for the idea!
ReplyDeleteThe garden angel is cute. I had seen mushrooms made that way and have been thinking about seeing if I can scrounge up the needed pieces...now I'll be looking for angel parts!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your pictures. They are beautiful and it was nice to see your festival. All the tents and the lake remind me of the big arts and heritage festival at our county park over the July 4th holiday.
Love that garden angel! I may have to try to make one of those! What a great idea for my secret garden!! So glad you had a good MayFaire and weekend. I hope you can rest up some time! It all looked very interesting....beautiful artistry.
ReplyDeleteWow - you had such a full weekend! I'm glad you survived it. :)
ReplyDeleteI never heard of garden angels - very pretty!
Looks like you had a great but busy weekend. Lovely photos. Glad your friend Teena is doing well.
