2016 Final Friday Foto Friends....

Whew!  Here we are at the last Friday in 2016. This year has really flown, but I can't say I am sad to see it go.  We are looking forward to a bright new 2017 with many possibilities!!

On to the Friday Foto Friends link-up with Debbie, from Breathing In Grace.  Join us HERE!

I don't have much but did conjure up a few new photos to share....

This is Vinny saying goodbye to the Christmas tree.  Silly cat.

Grandson Tristan asked Grandpa for any photos or memorabilia from his time in the Army, so Joe dug out a few things and sent them to Tristan, who thought this picture was just THE BEST!  LOL

Joe, accepting this award from General Wooten.
Trainee of the week, during his basic training at Ft. Dix.

I know many of you here and on Facebook always choose a word to guide you through the new year. Last night I did one of those 'things' on FB that chooses your word and this is what came up for me....

.....and that is perfect for be because.....(drum roll)

We accepted the offer on our house and signed the contract this morning. We have until February 28th to find a new place to live and get this place emptied out.  WOW!!!  This is happening!  They gave us full price, no dickering, and two months to make it all happen. They really like our home. I think it will be in good hands.  Oh my gosh. We're moving in 2017!  We're moving in two months!

I know several of you have prayed about this for us and I know that your prayers added to mine have made this happen.  Thank you!  Now, please pray that we will find the place we are supposed to move to for this next phase of our lives together!  Thank you!

Thanks for your visit today!  Happy new year, y'all!!  Peace & hugs. On to some BIG changes!

  1. Well, I had a comment all worked up in my head as I read through your post, but when I got to the end....I truly had chills reading what happened!!! That is absolutely AWESOME!!! I'm so happy for you, it's just like I was right there in the midst of it all happening and God smiling down on you and Mr. Joe! Wish I lived closer and I'd help you move! How exciting! Those Facebook things are kinda silly sometimes, but there's a lot of TRUTH in some of the things and yes CHANGE seems to be just perfect for you. (and I still have to mention that I grinned from ear to ear when I saw the pic of Vinny....;) Happy New Year, sweet Lady!

  3. WOW!!! That was pretty amazing! But, when we pray and ask God to lead the way, why should we be surprised when He does what we ask? So happy for you! God will lead you all the way. Happy New Year! Loved the pictures too.

  12. I hadn't thought about choosing a word for the year. Being slow like I am, I'll have to think about what I would chose.
Cool pic of Joe! He's quite handsome. And please tell him THANK YOU for his service to our country. Well done.
I added my prayer to y'alls that you'll find a home to be happy and safe in. Someplace where contentment will be an everyday feeling.
    Blessings! ~:)

  16. PRAISE GOD!!!! Please make sure to not tire yourself more than necessary. Moving is horrendous as it is so seriously consider taking at LEAST a week's vacation. Do you have an idea which part of the city you would prefer to live? I know it will be limited by what is available for the type unit/home you are seeking. I am sooo soooo excited for you both. Retirement is easily visible in the foreground now!
And you may have your moving plan worked out but start packing boxes every day if you are able to. Move all the boxes into one room or your storage unit. The times we were moved from state to state and the company paid for the move, that is what the packers did - - - kept putting all the boxes in one room - - - closest to a door whenever possible.

    1. Great advice! We will hire movers, but the packing will be done my us. It's been 27 years since we had to pack. Ugh. Major clean out as we go.

  17. Squeal!!! :) Did y'all do an impromptu happy dance after closing the front door? Nice to know the home you've loved is going to folks who will love it, too.

That's pretty neat about Tristan asking for some of his g'dad's memorabilia. What grandfather (or father!) wouldn't be honored! (BTW, your fella looks pretty dashing in that photo!)

  18. So glad to be back with my blog friends. How exciting that your house sold so quickly. And a little scary too as you have so much to do before you close. I will pray that God will guide you to the right place for you and Joe.
