Well, we made it through Monday! I don't have much for this Tuesday Tidbits post, but here goes:
This one made me chuckle. I know several of you are shoveling the white stuff...
It is back up in the 80s here.
My boss asked me yesterday if I could stay on through July (maybe a little longer). I said okay, whatever is needed to make a transition smoother. My retirement is now out there somewhere....
So excited that our son, Jeff, will be here for Christmas. I know I said that yesterday, but we are so happy he is coming down!
We got the comps for homes in our area, from our realtor, and have a target sale price for our house. Now, if we can just get the timing down and make it all happen with as little stress as possible.
On December 12, 1989, I lost my dad to cancer. We were with him when he died in the hospital. I know he waited until the day after my birthday to pass on. He was that kind of Dad. Just wanted to post the memory and honor his life.
That's all I have. I appreciate your time and visit!! Happy Tuesday! Peace & hugs.

1989, but it still feels like yesterday I imagine. We lost my Dad in 2014, but feels like only a day ago. My condolences to you.
ReplyDeleteOn a brighter note, love the Florida shoveling!
I am sorry for your loss {{big hugs and lots of love}}. Thanks for the chuckle...yep, shoveling, and I wouldn't have it any other way, smiles.
ReplyDeleteHave a beautiful day friend.
It is always hard to lose someone and near the holidays add an extra bit of grief. Ok Terri, I think you need to put a definite retirement date so that your boss has to get busy looking for someone. I know he/she will hate to lose you because I can tell you are a stellar employee but you have put in your time.:) Just my two cents worth but I know how you are looking forward to more time with Joe!
ReplyDeleteFunny pic! We haven't gotten snow yet. I am hoping we don't. I really don't want a white Christmas.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
ahhh - I'm sure he did wait - Daddy's are special.
ReplyDeleteCounting down now to that retirement?
The cartoon picture is so funny and so true! I agree with Arlene, decide on a date and tell him. He will have to get busy and find your replacement that way. He may try to drag it out and you are ready for the big day.
ReplyDeleteMy boss is a 'she' and there are some other things going on right now that I am not a liberty to talk about at this time. It's okay to push it back some. I don't feel so anxious about finding a new home and getting ours sold. I want to get that done before I am unemployed.
DeleteWoW, you are on the ball, getting everything in motion for your retirement this soon. That's awesome, hope it all goes well with very little stress. Bless you Daddy's heart, waiting for you to have your birthday...my Mother passed the day before my birthday. I don't think she could have held on until afterwards, so she went early to so not to go on my special day. Hope you're having a great day!
ReplyDeleteWhy is it, I wonder, that the loss of a loved one seems more acute around the Christmas season. It took me a good long while to cope with the holiday cheer after my dad passed one December. Then, I went and married a fella whose son celebrates a birthday on the same date. Go figure.
ReplyDeleteI would much prefer the Florida shoveling to the Northern one any day! But, I must admit, that the snow pictures are lovely.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about your father's passing. I know that even after all these years it can still hurt. Prayers for you to feel comforted.
Careful about staying on at work. Before it you it, two more years may slip away. *giggle*
Hope the house sells quickly and easily. ~:)
Do you think they want you to continue working full-time or will they let you work less days? Or even less hours? That would make it easier for you. It is super nice to have the paycheck but don't let your health and energy suffer because of it! (These words coming from a person who is chasing two boys around all day!)
ReplyDelete(((Hugs))) to you as you remember your Dad. I understand that feeling. Retirement...July? Praying for you as I know you are hoping to get there soon...but we know that God's timing is always perfect...He will show you the reason in due time. I know you are looking forward to your family coming for Christmas. What a wonderful time. Enjoy every moment. You are blessed.
ReplyDeleteI'm late in visiting and I truly apologize. There just aren't enough hours in the day any more, especially this time of year. Our sweet Daddy's passed away 8 days apart in dates. That made for a very sad CHRISTmas that year for both of us. I hope your boss changes his mind about keeping you through July....you need to get this retirement over with. LOL So glad you'll have family with your for CHRISTmas, too, because I know how important that is to you! Happy Wednesday!
