Friday Foto Friends....

I am linking up with Deb, over at Breathing in Grace, for Friday Foto Friends.  Click HERE to join in.  Thanks for hosting this Debbie!

I don't have any new photos for today, so I went looking for some old ones.  Some of you have probably seen these along the way, but some of you haven't. I went out to lunch with coworkers yesterday, which was lots of fun, but none of us thought to take pictures. I am going to lunch today with my girlfriends (Cindee and Shirley) and will try to remember to take a picture for my weekend recap.

The pontoon boat my dad made in our backyard.
We had so many hours filled with fun on this boat.
Notice the date is 1960. I was 8 years old.  He built the dock too.

1970...I'm second from the left, seated and looking at the trophy.
Notice my long, Dippity Doo straightened hair! LOL

This is where I really grew up, from age 10  through high school.
Millersport is at the western end of Buckeye Lake, which goes on
farther than this picture shows.  It is about 11-12 miles long.

May 2007.  Joe in front of the Vatican.
Amazing trip to Italy.

Wishing you a good Friday and weekend ahead!!  Thanks for your visit!  Peace & hugs.

  4. Looks like you and I both dipped into the past this Friday! I think your pic is darling and the dippity doo certainly did its magic! I never realized before that your Dad built the pontoon boat that you have talked about. Nice pic of Joe at the Vatican. I took a picture of the outside of the Vatican, but should have put Jay in front of it! ;-)

    1. My nephew's wife is from Ohio. A little town called Malvern outside of Akron, I think. Have you ever heard of it?

    2. I've not heard of Malvern, but know where Akron is. People usually don't know where Millersport is either. I always say 30 miles east of Columbus. Lots of little towns around Ohio. I loved growing up in a small town.

  5. Nice photos. Since I have baby fine, curly hair I used Dippity Doo in the 70s too. I remember it was so gooey! ~:)

    1. And if you used too much, it wouldn't dry. Learned that the hard way!!

    1. Not to brag or anything, but my dad was a superhero. Had we known about MacGyver back then, that's what we would have called him. He could fix or make anything with something found in the junk drawer. Yes, he found the drums for the floatation, but built the rest.

  7. I remember Dippity Do...tried to smooth down my cowlicks around my face when the style was much more smooth and sleek, with bangs and sideburns...sort of. Those were the days my friend...we thought they'd never end! Love your pictures...the pontoon boat is great!!! Wish I had one now.

    1. I wish I had one too. They are so much fun, and are so comfortable because you can move around on them. Next best thing to a big yacht! LOL

  9. I love your photos and what a beautiful place to grow up! My parents lived in Indianapolis for a couple of years and I always thought Ohio was a beautiful place! Happy weekend my friend!

  10. Dippidy-Doo, ah yesssss! Unfortunately, I didn't have much more hair than now to 'dippidy.'

Your Buckeye Lake looks mighty scenic. I've only been in Ohio (Dayton) once, but I'll never forget how lush and green everything looked!

    1. Dayton is probably the last place I would suggest someone visit the first time to Ohio, but I'm glad it was lush and green when you were there! Buckeye Lake was a great place to grow up!

  11. Wonderful photos.
I just bought a jar of Dippity Do at TJ Maxx! I used to straighten my bangs with it back in the day. I was thrilled to find it again.
Lovely memories from Ohio. I went to college in Athens Ohio.

  12. I HOPE you and Mr. Joe get to go back to Italy one of these days. Your Dad made that boat? WOW! That's awesome. I love looking through old(er) pics! Thanks so much for sharing and hope you have a great weekend.

    1. Yes, Dad made that boat in our backyard. I remember watching him on weekends building it bit by bit. I doubt we will ever get back to Italy. Joe's health worries and my bad knees will make long trips out of the country less likely than 10 years ago.

  13. Terri, thank you for sharing your sweet pictures. I LOVE your hair in high school. I remember dippity do. I never used it but remember the commercials!

  14. What fun memories! I'm so impressed by the boat! I remember Dippity Do, but my mom used it with clips to try to add curl to my pin straight hair. Guess it was versatile, right? :)
