Weekend Recap on Monday....

We had the most beautiful weather we have ever had for Mayfaire by-the-Lake.  The artists who come year after year (fondly) call it Bake by-the-Lake because it is usually in the high 90s with high humidity. This year, it was delightful!

I purposefully don't take pictures of the booths and artists, but I did take some photos while I was out and about.  I spend a good bit of my time in my office, but do have time to enjoy the festival.  This year was even more fun because our son, Joey, was here with us too.  He and Joe both volunteered a shift on Saturday and Sunday. Bless them!!

This is a view of the Kid's Zone, from my office window.

We have bounce houses, slides, bungees, and craft projects in our parking lot.

Kid's Zone fun!

Joe, driving one of the parking lot shuttle golf carts. He had fun!

Joey did a shift in the Membership Tent, talking to people about the Museum.

We have local talent all day, both days, on the stage in front of the Library. This was a hula girl.  You can enlarge the photos by clicking on them.

The Museum Tent, where we sell T-Shirts, magnets, posters and hats.... and hand out information all day long, both days.

Joe wore his new Villanova T-Shirt. He had fun with it.  One woman from North Carolina refused to ride the shuttle with him! She said she would wait for the next cart. I guess she is a die-hard basketball fan!! Joe got a kick out of it.

My "boys" took me to dinner last night for Mother's Day. I suggested Fish City Grill.
We were all tired, but not too tired to stuff our tummies.

I really splurged and got the low-country boil. Love, love, loved it.  I was a very happy girl!!

And....we weren't there, but our soon-to-be-nephew graduated and is now a Doctor.  Dr. Matthew Gussler will be our niece's husband in two weeks. We are traveling to Ohio for their wedding.  It is a happy celebration we are looking forward to!

My Mother's Day was extra sweet this year, with Joey here.  It is always spent at work, but Mayfaire is a labor of love that we are all happy to participate in.  This may have been my last Mayfaire as an employee, if I retire in March (as anticipated!!!).

My regular Sunday laundry day has become Sunday and Monday.  It takes a few evenings to do when I don't have all day on Sunday.  That's okay too. Thanks for your visit!!  Peace & hugs.

  2. How silly can people be, not riding the cart because of the t shirt, lol. Congratulations to your soon to be nephew, what an awesome thing!

My mom called late last night and she said they spent the day in the pool as it was in the 90's in Ocala. Too hot for me, smiles.

  10. Oh, that's funny about the lady from N.C. who wouldn't ride with Joe!

So pretty! Mayfaire 2016 looks like the perfect venue for enjoying the outdoors time time of year. (We're rapidly approaching that time of year I do my level best to remain INSIDE!)

  11. I can't imagine refusing to ride with someone just because of their t-shirt. Unless it was obscene, of course. Sounds like everybody had a great time and you are a blessed woman to have Joe and Joey there to help you and be with you celebrating you. Congratulations to the doctor and his bride.
