Monday Mishmash....

  • It was an uneventful weekend, but I did get some chores done!
  • Had a text with photos from Granddaughter Lauren, telling us about her new apartment and how much she loves it (and us!). Always so good to hear from her!
  • Looking forward to company this week AND a short work-week, since I am off Thursday and Friday!
  • We had some excitement for work this weekend. We had a Kickstarter project going to bring a Miami street artist to our Museum, to paint a mural for us and we made our $12,000 goal well before the deadline!!  Yippee.
  • My knee has been really hurting. The doctor gave me a painkiller to try. All it did was make me nauseous and sleepy so not taking it anymore. Pain meds really don't work well for me. I'm beyond just aggravated with the pain now...it is really starting to make me angry.  Joe says I need to get the surgery before August.  We'll see.
  • Have I mentioned how much I hate Daylight Savings Time?  Losing that hour just totally messes up my internal clock. It will take at least two weeks to get my body back in sync.
Well, a very ho-hum post, but thank you for stopping by!!  Peace & hugs my friends!

  1. I agree with the time change. Never truly understood why we do this. I mean I do, but it really has far more cons than pros. Have a wonderfu Monday.

  4. I don't like daylight savings either....but, I will say I slept better last night than I have in weeks/months!!! I think I was just exhausted from so much going on and lack of sleep and that hour I lost...LOL. So sorry about your knee...you might have to take Mr. Joe's advice.

  5. Oh man - I feel you with knee pain. I hate pain killers too. They wreck a system. I live by ice packs & biofreeze. have you ever tried KT Tape? it works wonders for me. I put it on my dad's knees (that need knee replacement) & he can walk 99% better with it on.

  6. Glad the goal was met, and before the deadline too!! Sorry about your knee, maybe it's time to get serious about the surgery.

  7. Regarding DST - I set our clocks back on Saturday morning right after I get up and it helps me adjust better.
Have they given you pain patches to wear on your knees? Those helped a friend of mine. Are you wearing any knee braces to help take the pressure off the knees? And the doctors have probably told you that the more the knee (bones) wear down, that sometimes the knee is more difficult to replace? Or maybe that was only the way it happened with one of my friends who had both done. So so sorry though. Knee pain is horrible. Been there.

    1. I have several braces, but none of them really work to relieve the pain. I've not been offered pain patches. Will ask my doctor when I see him next month. Thanks!

  8. I'm so sorry your knee is bothering you. I hope there is a solution somewhere in your future.
Don't even get me started about daylight savings time... It'll take me at least a month to adjust!!!
    Have a great week.

  9. Have you considered acupuncture, Terri? I've no personal experience, but some folks swear by it.

That's so nice you're taking off Thursday and Friday to help celebrate my birthday! (LOL) I'm excited to be off those days as well. Little things mean a lot, don't they?
