I've already mentioned that Joe's birthday is this Saturday, September 5th. He has been honored with lots of parties through the years. One of the most fun was back in 2008. We were invited to a surprise 50th birthday party for our friend, DeWayne, who was born on the 6th of September. The party was on the 5th (Joe's birthday).
We dressed in 50s garb, and when we got to the party found out Dawn was also honoring Joe. She had a gift for him and a separate birthday cake! I couldn't believe that she did that for Joe when the evening was for DeWayne. It was a blast. We had a great time. Here are a few photos....
Dawn, DeWayne and Joe (I caught Joe talking!)
An Elvis impersonator entertained us (DeWayne's son, actually).

Dawn and her sisters wore poodle skirts.
His birthday this year won't be quite as much fun, but we will still be celebrating with friends and an ice cream cake on Friday, then our weekend in St. Augustine.
Thanks for your visit! Peace & hugs.
Safe travels and hopes for an awesome weekend away....relax and enjoy!!
ReplyDelete50s night looks like fun. That was nice that Joe got his own cake. Very thoughtful.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Hey, any birthday when you get to be over 50 like us, is a birthday worth celebrating. Joe looks so happy in these photos. Love the skirts, remember well when I use to see pictures of my mother wearing them.
ReplyDeleteDid they make those poddle skirts? They are fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI seem to remember that they did make the skirts.
DeleteLove the poodle skirts. Happy Birthday to Joe!!

ReplyDeleteI think you and Joe can make a party out of just about anything, any where.
ReplyDeleteSeptember 5 is my niece Stephanie's birthday and then on the 6th is my brother Roger's birthday. I'm sure Joe will have a fun celebration on Friday. How I love those poodle skirts! The fashion from the 50's was so cool!
ReplyDeleteHow fun to walk down memory lane with you. I had a pink felt skirt with a poodle too. THE GOOD OL' DAYS.
ReplyDeleteIt's my sister's birthday on Sept 5 too, and guess what her name is? It's Terri! Isn't that crazy?
ReplyDeleteThat looks like such a fun party!
