An Extra Happy Birthday Wednesday Hodgepodge....

Happy birthday to Joyce's "hubs"!!  She has given us these new Hodgepodge questions to answer!  Join in on the fun with a quick visit to From This Side of the Pond!  Thanks, Joyce!

1. What's on your September calendar? Anything fun? Yes! Joe's birthday is this Saturday and we are going to St. Augustine for the weekend with our son and daughter-in-law!!

2. You might be described as a natural born woman!

3. September is National Courtesy Month...what one act of courtesy would you most like to see more of in your home, town, or the world at large?  Compassion.  We just need more compassion for one another.

4. Eager beaver, chicken out, clam up, or let the cat out of the bag...of the phrases listed, which one have you related to most recently?   I guess Eager Beaver though I don't have a specific example.  I just know the others don't apply.

5. What's your movie theatre snack protocol?  We usually at least get a drink.  Do you chow down on snacks during the previews or wait until the movie begins? We chow down as soon as we sit down if we have popcorn.  Do you buy snacks or refuse to pay those kind of prices?  We realize that the theaters stay open by selling snacks and beverages, so we try not to sneak things in very often. What's the last movie you saw in a theatre?  Spy, with Melissa McCarthy.  How many thumbs up would you give it?  Two thumbs up!  It was hilarious!

6. Henry Ford is quoted as saying, "Nobody can think straight who does not work. Idleness warps the mind." Agree or disagree?  Generally I can agree, but there are exceptions!  Why?  I look forward to retirement and having a warped mind!!  LOL

7. What's the last job you completed or task you performed where you had to 'work like a dog' until it was finished?  I rarely have to work like a dog to do anything, thank goodness!  Probably the last time was when I had to empty out our two spare bedrooms and the closets so they could be painted and new flooring put in.  It's been a couple of years now.  There is more cleaning out to be done, but nothing is motivating me at the moment.

8.  Insert your own random thought here.  I'm all out of thoughts right now, random or otherwise.  (I actually wrote 4 paragraphs in a rant, but decided to delete it!)

Thanks for your visit!  Peace & hugs.

  3. Happy birthday to Joe! St. Augustine? I LOVE St. Augustine and would love to go back. We visited there on our way to spring training a few years back ... we didn't have nearly enough time, I didn't think.

  5. Happy early birthday to Joe!

We always get popcorn and a soda at the movies. We start eating when we sit down too. Last one we saw was new Mission Impossible.

  11. Woman-ha! I guess in 2015 that needs to be clarified : ) So what were you ranting on about? The number of things I could rant about these days is pretty long! Hope you feel better just getting the words down on paper, even if you never publish sometimes the spilling of words helps.

  14. A St. Augustine birthday celebration weekend sounds wonderful. Hope it's happy for all of you. Will Joe get a birthday cake or cupcake? I laughed that you're a natural born woman. Lol and that you can't wait to have a warped mind. You're sure you don't want to post that rant? Now you've got us curious! :-). Have a great weekend a Happy Birthday Joe.

I agree with you about the compassion. It seems people just don't care any more.
