June is a big birthday month for our family!!
June 1st was my sister, Patti's, birthday. I won't talk age, except to say she is six years younger than me. She went to Ohio University and has been teaching elementary school since she graduated. She and her husband, Greg, have one daughter who is just completing her first year of college.
My sister, Tammy, celebrated her birthday on June 5th. She is nine years younger than me, and went to Ohio State University. Also a teacher, she decided teaching high school English wasn't for her. She prefers teaching adults and GED classes, but is now in Georgia, with her husband, Bruce, and hasn't applied for her Georgia certificate yet. She is currently working for Nabisco.
Our son, Jeff, is celebrating his birthday TODAY!! Happy birthday to Jeff! Jeff has worked for Safeway since he was 16 years old. Pretty amazing, in this day and age, to stay with the same company for over 30 years! He as been a deli manager and a meat manager... sort of the family business, since his grandpa owned a meat market, and his dad (my Joe) grew up also working in the meat market.
(I am sorry I don't have better photos, but my laptop is down and I'm trying to pull photos from the cloud. I have better ones in my laptop, but the processor is going - I need a new one before it is gone completely.)
My step-grandma's birthday is June 12th. She will be 94 years old, and is an amazing woman. She is still living at home, she is still mentally sharp, she has a great sense of humor, and always tells us how much she loves us, and loved my mom. My mom's folks divorced when she was 11 years old, so I was lucky to grow up with three sets of grandparents, and we were all blessed that mom's folks got along so we could all be together for holidays and there was no nastiness. Grandma was a good bit younger than my grandpa, which is why I am 62 years old and still blessed with a living grandmother!
June 30th will be my niece, Sara's, birthday. Sara is my brother's oldest. She was 15 when he died of cancer. She went on to graduate from Ohio University and is a pre-school teacher for Head Start. My brother would be so proud of her!! We all are proud of her. She is a lovely girl, inside & out.
We also have several friends celebrating June birthdays, but this post is about family. Thanks for stopping by my blog!! Have a blessed Tuesday!

June was definitely the month for your family! Thank you for sharing with us. Hope you can get that new laptop soon, because I know how aggravating it is when you can do what you want to do. Happy Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteHappy Tuesday to you, Linda! The new laptop is still a couple of months away, I'm afraid. We have a couple of other things that we need to put any extra cash toward, right now. Just thankful to be able to use Joe's laptop.
DeleteHappy birthday, belated and otherwise, to the members of your family, Terri! Are you originally from Ohio since I noticed that so many of your family went to Ohio State? Teaching seems to be in the blood! That is WONDERFUL!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day, Terri.
Yes - born and raised in central Ohio. We lived in a very small town, 30 miles east of Columbus, on one end of Buckeye Lake.
DeleteA happy birthday to all! I'm here trying to catch up on folks - there is too much information to comment on it all, but I do hope and pray you are doing well. It may be a while yet before I'm back, but I will be back.
ReplyDeleteJulie! I've been missing you!! Thanks for popping in, and I look forward to hearing about the recital and everything else that is keeping you so busy. Hugs.
DeleteHappy Birthdays all the way around! I love, love your new look here. Have a great Tuesday!! Blessings
ReplyDeleteThanks, Linda!
ReplyDeleteWow you really do have lots of birthdays this month. Lots of teachers in your family too. Happy Birthday to Everyone! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kim!
DeleteWhew - - - sounds like celebration feast or famine and you are definitely in the feast mode. If a person still bought Hallmark cards, their stock would be going up this month with you! You may know that our Amanda teaches with Headstart, too. She has a pre-K class in an elementary school. She really enjoys that age. Plus she appreciates how much Family Resource Agency supports the teachers/classrooms with materials and enhancements for teaching.
ReplyDeleteLynda, if I knew about Amanda teaching with Head Start, I had forgotten! Thanks for letting me know. Sara is great with the little ones, too!
DeleteWow! That is a lot of birthdays close together. Wishing all of your loved ones a Happy Birthday! Hope all the BDs that have come and gone were good ones and those coming up will be as well. Hugs
ReplyDeleteI don't think I have anyone in my immediate family with a birthday in June, but I think a couple of my cousins have a biethday soon. Facebook will let me know I hope. I like all your photos and wish everyone in your family a happy birthday.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteSo many June birthdays! (The month of May is sort of like that in our family. ) Wishing each and every one of your family members a blessed and happy birthday!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteMy goodness...you DO have a lot of celebrating to do this month. I was just telling Bud the other day, "Thank Goodness We Have No Birthdays or Graduations this month"....and then, look at you!!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to them all.
Wow - it's a packed month for you! Happy birthday to all your family members.
ReplyDeletePS - what a good looking bunch!
Thanks, Mari!
DeleteWow, that is a lot of birthdays. Think of it as a month of celebration! I lost my one set of grandparents that I knew when I was around 12, I think. I'm glad my kids still have their grandparents and hopefully will for quite some time. What a lovely family you have.
ReplyDeleteWHat a coincidence. My friend and former neighbor, Deb, is an administrator for Head Start! (She's really excited to start vacation in the next few days). Sara is such a pretty lady. So many June babies in your fam. We only have one in June, Lee's late sister, Nancy, had her birthday on the 10th.
