August 18, 2012 Saturday

The picture is worth 1,000 words!  Today was cleaning day.  If I skip a week, the house just seems so dirty to me, and we had Tristan with us last weekend, so I didn't get any housework done.  Joe does the bathrooms, which is a big help.  We got it done, and it sure feels good to have the dusting, vacuuming, and mopping done.  Tomorrow, I'll do laundry.  At one time, we had a cleaning service come twice a month.  That was really nice, but it is so expensive to do that.  My sister has a cleaning lady who works for $10 an hour.  Sure wish I had someone here who would work for that price!!  I could have someone every week and the monthly expense would be about what I paid for one day to Maid Pro.  It was nice having the weekends to get out and do things other than clean!  Of course, if I could get motivated to do a little each evening, it wouldn't be such a big deal on the weekend - but, when I get home from work, cleaning is the last thing I want to do.  Sigh.

We woke up to the sound of thunder.  We have had rain all morning.  Unusual for us, since our rains usually come in the afternoons during the summer.  It has cooled things off for us, which is great.  It is only 75 right now!  Amazing!

Not much else to report right now.  I'll get this posted and poke around a bit.  Wishing you a good rest of the day, and a great Sunday!  Peace, love & hugs!

  1. The weather here has been just awesome also. My husband is helping one of our sons on his house. Storm came through a few weeks back and messed some things up
    Have a great afternoon

  2. You are so lucky Joe does the bathrooms. When I'm working, I don't feel like doing anything in the evenings.

  3. I get up every Monday and think, now today I will do this or that, and continue thru out the week, but I never follow thru. Also, I have no help in cleaning, laundry, etc. You would think a retired person had all the time in the world.......NOT. Enjoy your Saturday evening.

  4. The days go by so fast, there's not enough hours to get everything done... and when we retire it gets even worse. We don't have the time to 'retire'. I did get the shopping done today (thanks Terri). And the supper mess is all cleaned up. Maybe now it's time for me to relax. Have a good evening.
