Thank goodness it's Friday!
Time to link up with other's over at Deb's Friday Foto Friends. You'll find her at Breathing In Grace!
I have to confess that I had nothing to share until I started home from work last night. We are having friends over for dinner tonight and I needed to do some shopping at Publix. It's an easy stop on the way home, but I was trying to beat the rain. The only thing worse than grocery shopping, is trying to get the groceries to the car and loaded in the rain. Well, I JUST made it. This was my windshield as I pulled out of my parking spot.
I've mentioned before that part of the movie Edward Scissorhands was filmed in Lakeland, at our Southgate Shopping Center. Take a look at that nasty cloud over the sign!
Southgate Shopping Center is where 'our' Publix is now. We used to shop at the Lake Miriam Publix, but now we claim this one.
Are any of you familiar with the store Tuesday Morning? We had one in Lakeland that closed a couple of years ago. Made us sad. Then this sign appeared in our Southgate Shopping Center and it is due to open soon!! AND it's twice as big as the old one!
This is me on my way home with the groceries. That's Mas Verde on the right and the gate I use is the one where you see the white car getting ready to pull out.
This is our street after I go through the entrance gate. Yes, it was still raining.
A whole bunch of years ago, my sister Tammy got us this stained glass piece with our name on it. I have never had a window in which to display it until our new house. When you approach our door, there can be no question about this being our house! There are no other D'Orsaneos in our entire county.
A few of you asked for a picture of my new purse. This makes it look more green than turquoise, but it really is turquoise. It is leather and has multiple pockets (a must). I haven't switch over to it yet, but will this weekend!
We are watching a series on Netflix called Vexed. It's pretty good....detectives solving murders. Lucy loves to jump up in front of the TV and try to catch movements....drives Joe crazy. I just laugh. I guess I won't laugh if she knocks it over some day.
That's all I have this morning. Looking forward to Mike & Mary Ellen coming over tonight for fajitas and margaritas! I have to get home a little early to work on the food prep and a quick vacuum. Mike is allergic to cats, so we try to clean up as much as we can when they are coming for a visit. He is usually good for a few hours.
One week to go!! You know what I mean! :) Thanks for your visit! Peace & hugs.

I do know Tuesday Morning, but have only been once, as the only store in our town is waaaay across town from me. They do have just about anything you are looking for however. And Publix is the 'bomb' in groceries....I love going in and seeing all they offer. Lucy is funny, but as you say, not so much when and if the tv topples! Enjoy your friends tonight.
ReplyDeleteWe had a Tuesday Morning in Tuscaloosa, until the EF 5 tornado took it...non up here though. Those are some ominous clouds.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day friend.
We had a Tuesday Morning and it closed a few years ago too. When we are visiting FL we always go to Publix. We don't have them around here.
ReplyDeleteLove your new purse. The stained glass is beautiful.
Have a great day!
A new purse, Publix and Tuesday Morning makes for a great Friday post Terri. We are getting a Publix about five minutes from my house and I am so happy. I also love Tuesday Morning. It is one of my favorite stores along with Ross and T J Maxx. Thanks for taking us on a tour!!
ReplyDeleteThere are a few Tuesday Mornings in our area, so come for a visit! 💜 So glad you've only got a week left. Great last minute pics... Love your purse! Hope you have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy shopping at Tuesday Morning, nice to hear you're getting a new one! The stained glass is so pretty, your sister did good! We've had a lot of rain this summer, hot sunny mornings and scattered thunder storms in the afternoons.
ReplyDeleteOh, I loved riding along with you on your way home! Such fun! I am not familiar with Tuesday Mornings, although I think there is one in Ocala. I just never got around to checking it out! Of course, we ALL love to shop at Publix, "where shopping is a pleasure!" Love your stained glass window! So pretty! And your cat watching TV is so funny. I hope you have a great evening with your friends tonight...oh, I do love your purse. Can't wait to see it all filled up! A great little retirement present to yourself! One more week!!!!!! Wow!!!! So excited for you!!! Just take a deep breath and relax and enjoy the ride of this last week! I hope you don't have TOO much work still to do!
ReplyDeleteThat's such a cool picture of Lucy!
ReplyDeleteThe new purse looks incredibly soft. I want to pick it up and hold my cheek against it ... LOL!
We've a Tuesday Morning here but I know nothing about it. Still miss shopping at Publix! Have fun with your friends tonight!
I have been finding something at Tuesday Morning each time I go. I think it could become a habit. It has been around for the longest, but my only previous experience wasn't good so I didn't go there until they opened a new one near me. I like it! I like that purse, too.
ReplyDeleteSo maybe Lucy wants to be a detective! LOL I think we have a Tuesday Morning in Eau Claire. I'll stop in there again soon. It's next to our Joanne Fabrics. I love that new purse. Is it as soft as it looks? Have a nice weekend. We were expecting storms today but it looks like now they'll be tomorrow instead. Just in time for Saturday. LOL
ReplyDeleteGlad you made it to the car before the rain. That is a big relief!
ReplyDeleteWe had a Tuesday Morning and ours went out of business too.
Have a fun weekend!
The stained glass is soo pretty! What a lovely way to find your home!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your last week of employment. Happy days are ahead of you!!!
