Tuesday 4...

Annie brings us the questions each Tuesday!!  Join in HERE!!  Thanks, Annie!!

 Tuesday 4

Bug Out!

High winds, tree-splitting winds, and buckets of rain since yesterday and more are on the way. The wind has been howling here for 2 days straight. Ian is on the coastline and not playing nice.
We can play nicely though with Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4 questions. Are you ready? Since the east coast is experiencing hurricanes and tropical storms let us explore the topic.     Okay? Let's Go...

 1. Expert survivalists and weather experts say it is wise to have a bug-out bag handy in case of evacuation, hurricane, earthquake, or any emergency. You can see online how to create one. Do you have an emergency kit or bug-out bag?  The first thing I did when I saw the news that Ian was coming for us was to pack a bag and gather my electronics, a case of water, canned foods, pet food, and the pet carriers.  They were in my car Tuesday through Thursday night.  Items are always handy when hurricane season starts here in Florida.  I also had my closet prepared as a hiding place with no windows and clothing as a buffer.  Thanking God that I didn't need them and praying for those who did.

 2. Do you have plans with your family on where to meet and what to do in case of an emergency?  It's just me and the cats.  We agreed on everything.  😉

 3. Do you keep your phone well charged and your gas tank topped off?  Yes. Is your flashlight kept fresh with batteries?  Yes.  Do you have a list of what to do and where to go?  In my head.  I've been through 33 hurricane seasons and this one isn't over yet.

 4. How about a little stash of emergency goods and foods to last a week or two?  I have food for a week, probably.  They say it pays to do this.. do you?  Always prepared!!  But how can anyone really be prepared to lose everything? Things are just things. But how hard it must be to move forward!!

Peace & hugs!!
God is good, all the time!

  2. Yes, no one is prepared to lose everything. It is difficult but somehow God sees us through. Thank you for joining in.

  3. Terri, I think you are right. How could you really be prepared to start all over again. I can't imagine. I'm so glad all is well with you.

  5. Giggling -- so glad you, Vinny and Casper are in sync.
Unfortunately, I've grown really lax about personal safety. Must remedy that before next month. (April and November are supposed to be the most 'at risk' months for tornado activity.)
I suppose we could always evacuate to my son's place, but I still want to note which hotels are pet-friendly.
Amen to your #4. Pray it never comes to that! xo

  6. Main thing is to have water... we can go a ways without food... water about three days. On that happy note.. The best to you for a good day. :)

    1. I always remember... 3 minutes without air, 3 days without water, ans 3 weeks without food.

  7. We never prepared like that when we lived down there. Probably because my husband's parents were also transplants and they didn't do anything, either. I guess we (probably foolishly) never caught the urgency. I'm glad you and the kitties are fine!

  8. It sounds like you have a good plan for things like this. We try to have some things stocked and have flashlights, but don't have a real plan. Then again, blizzards are a different category than hurricanes!
